This used to be my favorite writing app. Now I can't write anything without upgrading and paying monthly, even after deleting a lot of old work. I'm searching for a new app to take the place of Werdsmith. I hate it because this used to be a great app.

This app is so amazing. It is so user friendly! It's easy to use and fun. It is an amazing app. The makers of this app rock. If you're a writer get this. It's so amazing. If you like to write and are trying to improve this app is a good way to practice. It also counts you're words so you can see how to build you're writing stamina. I love to write and this app makes it so easy. Totally get this app it really is amazing!! I❤️Werdsmith ????

Gotta hand it to the authors, it’s a great app. But it’s also a cash grab. They’ll say it’s the way things are these days, but it’s not. Come up with better pricing model, and I’m in. Until then, Back to iaWriter for me.

Brilliant, but novels can't actually be written on it

Werdsmith has helped me so much as I pursue my love for writing. It's like having a little computer on my phone! I travel a lot, so it's been really nice to be able to use my phone instead of lugging around my laptop when I just need to pack light for hiking or something. If you're a writer, I greatly encourage you to get Werdsmith. The thing that makes me frustrated, though, is that if you're planning to actually write an entire novel on werdsmith, you won't be able to go over about thirty thousand words before this happens: every five minutes or so, it will lag, then freeze, then and crash. And the longer my novel got, the more often this happened. Now, on the tail end of my first draft, it crashes about every sixty seconds, so I guess werdsmith just didn't believe that their users would ever actually write novels, because no matter how many updates come out, the problem is never fixed. It makes me sad. And also, the membership costs to add themes and take off the writing limit? That is just frickin ridiculous.

Also, no mention of what writing limits are built in to persuade you to open up your wallet every month or once a year. For about half the price of Office this little word processor could be yours to, ...well, rent. It would only be worth that if it had a decent auto mode...

Good, except for the crashes.

It's good, but it crashes a lot. Needs some optimization. I haven't been able to figure out the source of the crashes, but I do know that it possibly happens more often on documents that are formatted (using werdsmith's bold / italics functions) or exceed a 40,000 word count. The crashes sometimes erase large sections of work I had done. Tedious but it is a good app otherwise. EDIT 10/26/17: I’ve now pinpointed that the crashes only occur when I’ve been writing for a few minutes and I start to backspace and delete something. It doesn’t happen any other time. I also think the app is very laggy and slow, especially on documents with large amounts of text. EDIT 11/14/17: The crashes have, if anything, started to happen more frequently of documents of all sizes. Every 100 words, I get a crash. My phone’s updated, my app’s updated, but nothing. Backspacing and large documents seems to cause the worst of it.

I am a young writer and love to write, I also travel allot and the only computer I can use is my parents and that is out of the option. This app has helped me with traveling uses. This app is so easy to use and I would give it a five star rate but something seems off to me

I've had this app for a few years and spent hours and more to come just creating. I have a suggestion to add on like a keywords bar to help search for certain parts or words in a large project. To help from having to scroll though the whole thing. If it's to much trouble I have no problem with finding it the hard way ? thanks for a great app.

I Like The App, But...

Okay, Let me start off my saying, I do like the app! I do! It is great as a whole and really useful! I like how you can add a word-goal and it gives a little ‘notification thingy’ when you have hit that goal! But— My only real issue I have ever had with this app was that it deleted my writing. Okay, So, I closed the app about three hours ago so I could go do something else for a bit. I had quite a bit done and I was happy with it! Just moments ago, I decided to go back and write. When upon entering the app, everything seemed fine. When entering my writing, I saw a *blank page*. My 5,000 (ish) words written earlier that day were all gone. And that’s really discouraging. Have all that effort put to waste. I’m not sure but I don’t think it’s an issue on my phone. I have read other reviews and saw that others were having this issue as well. To be honest, I would think this is the main issue that needs to be taken care of— Because, Whats a writing app without being able to write? (And keep your writing)(Thats actually why I’m giving it 3 stars. 5,000 words down the drain. ;-; ) I have only had this issue once, but, other than that, I enjoy the app.
