The app uses a diagrammatic map designed by Vignelli Associates, whose founder Massimo Vignelli created the iconic subway map used during the 1970’s.
Features:
+ Blinking dots for stations indicating NYC subway planned work
+ View subway planned work by Station, Line, or by Borough before you start your travel
+ Download and view neighborhood maps for areas around your station
+ View real-time Subway Service Status and more.
+ Get Subway Real Time information and find out when is your next train arriving
This app is very old and needs an update.
I just got whatever version of iOS that comes with an iPhone 11. The Weekender app stopped working; the map is not visible and is just black.
The absolute worst app for figuring out weekend subway service.
How come we cannot see the overall subway map - all I see is blinking lights on a black background?!
I was late today because I made the mistake of trusting this app. The train wasn’t stopping at my station and the app made no mention of it. Then again, I probably was expecting too much from the worst train system in the world.
I've been using this app for a long time. Now I'm just disappointed that it hasn't been updated to reflect the Q line which I use everyday. Please update!!!
This app is a good reference if you have the patience and cell service to download the updates every time you open it as it doesn't update automatically. There have been big changes to the subway system (see 2nd Ave Q train and respective changes to NRW) that are still not included here months later. There are many functions the app claims to have yet I have yet to find them as it has a poorly designed user interface.
I don't even live in New York, I just really like the map! I would like an update for the newer devices, though. This is pretty great.
