Nice Interface Bad Codecs

I like the interface but streaming as a dlna is not very functional. Need to update the codecs because many videos do not play.

Perfectly Simple/Effective!

This simply plays videos off my NAS (DLNA/UPNP Server) and plays them on the Chromecast flawlessly! - (Sometimes it gets confused with titles, like Cop Out it thought was Lets Be Cops, but still plays.) - other programs that do this want too much installed. This is so elegantly effective. Thanks to the maker of this program!!

So close but so far...

The good thing? This app IS actually capable of doing what it's supposed to; using my phone, I can play a video file from my DLNA NAS on my Chromecast. ? Unfortunately, that's when it all goes to hell. Once streaming, the app crashes immediately if you try to return to the previous menu (to, say, select a different video). It then crashes immediately after re-opening the device and re-selecting your DLNA server. Meanwhile, the video you first started playing keeps streaming the Chromecast, completely uncontrollable, until you turn off the tv. So close, but so far. Frustrating. I'm sorry to say, but this app is currently unusable.

Works great!

Searched a long time for an app like this.

Exactly what I was looking for

This app is exactly what it says. It's simple. It locates your media server on your network so you can use your iphone to cast to your tv. I use it for chromecast. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that I have to keep refreshing over & over until it finally accesses my media server, then while I'm navigating it sometimes crashes. Once it starts casting all is perfect. With a few tweeks I'm sure that will solve issue. Highly recommend this for chromecast.

Works great

Current version: Still great, if you need further transcoding capability visit the Dev's website there are instructions. previous version: No complaints. Works well. Regarding codecs: This app appears to send the Chromecast a direct link for the file on your server. Does not cast directly from your iOS device (my preferred method). So this app does not transcode it just controls playback. It will play whatever file formats the Chromecast supports.

This is perfect for casting from my Raspberry Pi 2 running minidlna. The program is very minimal and easy to navigate. Works great so far.

Limited!!

it will only cast mp4 files from my NAS.. disappointing

Must have for Chromecast users
Grandhooha

If you store your videos on a local NAS and use Chromecast, this app is a must have. Simply the best casting app there is. Works on the free version, but well worth the $0.99 to upgrade.
