Mindfulness is the practice of training the mind to be present through moment-to-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, body sensations and environment. Mindfulness promotes an attitude of openness, curiosity, and a willingness to be with our experience. Through regular practice, taught through this app, you can develop a meditation practice and learn to bring more mindfulness into your daily life.

This app offers:

- Basic Meditations for getting started, in both English and Spanish
- Wellness Meditations for people suffering from challenging health conditions
- Informative videos exploring how to get started, supportive meditation postures, and the science of mindfulness
- Weekly podcasts from UCLA's Hammer Museum-- a 30 minute meditation on different themes you can search for and bookmark
- A timer to meditate on your own

The Mindful Awareness Research Center (MARC), is an educational and research center dedicated to fostering mindful awareness practices to promote health, well-being, and a compassionate society. It is located at the Jane and Terry Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Due to MARC's mission of radical accessibility of mindfulness practices, this app is entirely free to the user.

Easy to use with great meditations

I love UCLA’s mindfulness classes so this is a great way to have meditations in the go. Glad to have it.

Trustworthy teachers. Evidence-based techniques.
Cleveywon

Having practiced for over a decade, I find that UCLA has the most high-quality, trustworthy, research-based mediation — all offered for free. It seems too good to be true, but their teachers genuinely want to spread the practice to the world. 5 stars!

Simple and elegant
Orbishek

My introduction to mindfulness six years ago came through Diana Winston’s podcasts and I still come back to them on a regular basis. Delighted to know there is now a well-designed app to keep up with them. And the timer is a great touch!

Meditations don’t load
Strssdout

The majority of the time when I open the app the meditations won’t load. They just say 0 for the time. Very disappointing. Also their website doesn’t work where the meditations used to be.

Fantastic Meditation app

I’ve been listening to the podcasts for a couple years and love this easy to access and bookmarkable app. The quality of mediations are excellent. The app is simple and easy to navigate. Thank you for the work you do.

Fantastic Meditation App

High quality meditations available for free from UCLA. Really like the ones from Diana Winston and colleagues. Nicely designed app. You can bookmark the meditations you’re interested in doing. It takes a minute for the podcast to load, so you just have to practice mindfulness until it starts playing.
