Instagram is about a lot more than catching up with friends these days. If you need proof just look at all the features around shopping. I like Threads because it’s simple. It keeps the focus on people you’re actually friends with and sharing stories, no extra fluff.

they literally changed it so you can only message your close friends which is bs because I downloaded this app so I could text easier and notice the messages faster but now it’s only letting me text my close friends & that’s stupid. CHANGE IT BACK!

Just merge this with Instagram. There’s no need for this app and I doubt anyone will truly use it (on its own) and switch between Instagram and threads to just message someone. The dm system is really good and overall, extremely attractive (except for the midnight mode, those red text are horrid for the eyes at night and it defeats the whole purpose of midnight). There’s no other texting app needed, a simple one at that. Sending photos with filters and it having different modes is nothing special but it will be special if you add it with Instagram because it makes the bundle better.

But! I really love how there is an app like this because I communicate with many of my friends on Instagram because it’s quicker when you have a friend with a different brand device. I love the UI design! It’s so clean and fun. The messages send quite fast, and faster with videos than it would be on the regular Instagram app. Overall, I am enjoying the app. But, like I said, it could be better. There are bugs that need to be fixed. Some filters that I’ve downloaded from the Instagram app won’t work if it starts by pressing the screen. I wish GIFs would work and when you type a really long message, it doesn’t send the entire thing because while the message that sends has the limit, typing it doesn’t. I either suggest fixing it or actually letting us type more. I would rather have the latter however. I would love to be able to type more than have to copy and paste each section and erase some letters until it works. I also wish we didn’t have to add people to our close friends list just so you can DM them on this app. I get that that’s the point of this app, but it really limits us. I had to add people that I don’t consider as close friends just because I knew I would have to contact them sooner or later. In addition, I would love to be able to watch IG TVs because my friends send it in sometimes but I can’t watch it. Hope you can add these and fix the bugs! Thank you. This is a really important app to me.
