Swedish Bubble Bath is a simple game which gradually lets you start learning Swedish words and phrases. You start off with a 50/50 guessing chance on easy topics. You watch 2 bubble float into the air and you hear a Swedish work spoken when you select one. Then you have to choose the button on either side which correctly translates the spoken word. You start out guessing, but soon start making selections based on you recognition of the spoken or read Swedish.

After you get better, later levels force you to choose between 10 translations. Other levels will force you to read by removing the native speaker speaking the words. Then, other levels will force you to listen, by removing the text. Make sure you play the game with sound on.

My favorite app for learning Swedish
gd4360

This is the one I keep going back to when I've deleted almost all the rest - it's the only one that's fun. That gets me past my reluctance to practice and motivated to go on with lessons. It's only an introduction to Swedish, but it covers the basics and provides a good foundation. The format is simple and easy to learn. Graphics are uncomplicated, using an easily readable font. The voice is very nice, with clear pronunciation, and the pacing is just right. Game levels are well-balanced and the gameplay is engaging without creating too much tension. Everything an educational game should be, and works equally well for kids or adults.

Really enjoying this app

Tack så mycket for this app! I'm really enjoying practicing svenska with the bubble game. I finished all of the levels right away, but I still like using the games like flashcards (but more fun)! The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it uses English words instead of images. I am just a beginner in Swedish, but I don't want to practice translating between English and Swedish. I want to practice *thinking* in Swedish. For example, I would like to hear the word "sju" and think "7", rather than "sju...seven...oh, that's 7". If there was an option to display numbers and pictures rather than English words, I would definitely give this app 5 stars.
