Using Sum Dominoes is simple. Start a new game, enter the names of the players and you're all setup. Play your rounds just like you normally would, but at the end of each one simply pass an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad around the table and have each user record their score.
To enter a score, Sum Dominoes can take a picture of your dominoes, analyze it and count how many points you have. Easy. It highlights what it finds and just in case it made an error, there are buttons to make adjustments.
If you simply have a few points and manually entering your score is easier, that's not a problem either. The specialized calculator makes it easy to tally up the points in a hand manually. This is also useful for devices that don't have a camera.
Sum Dominoes can be useful with nearly any type of domino game. Mexican Train, Chicken Foot, whatever. If it involves counting the dominoes Sum Dominoes is here to help.
Use the calculator for free and try the automatic counter for 25 hands. After that an in-app purchase will allow you to count an unlimited number of hands automatically.

I haven't used it in a game, but it really works! It's almost magical to lay out a bunch of dominoes and snap a picture, and have it IMMEDIATELY return a score... (I expected a delay if a second or so...nope) The app highlights all the pips so you know if it made a mistake. By slightly adjusting the angle I have not experienced two mistakes in a row. You can easily add players you routinely play with and it will keep them loaded for new games. Game play works as normal and you just pass your phone to allow each player to tally their personal score at the end of a round. It takes A LOT to surprise me with an app...and even more to make me smile at how cool it is; This one did it!!! Excellent job, keep up the great work!!!! SUGGESTIONS: 1) in manual mode, add a number box to quickly text in a players score without having to click on a domino... In most cases players quickly count scores and shout them out... By typing in a number it can go faster than searching for the right dominoes to click on. 2) Bluetooth support to link other players with iPhones so you do not have to pass your phone. 3) IPAD SERVER MODE: each player takes a picture or manually enters score with their own phone and a master "server" keeps tally, and a running score that is centrally displayed and pushed out to players with phones. An iPad would be ideal, because it could act as a scoreboard...

I thought this app should exist to make counting dominoes so fast and games easier to play. Thank you for creating this! We also found it easy to double check scores and sometimes ppl counting themselves were wrong.

Counts well if you keep the number of tiles low. Faster than manual counting and easy to check for missed spots. Would like to see an adding feature for multiple shots.

Simple to use, well designed, and accurate. What else can I say, the app doesn't solve world hunger, but it does solve every problem with scoring dominos. One quick point, when you upgrade the OS it resets the camera access. The app just shuts down when you try to use the camera. No warning, but no big deal, just go to setting and give camera permission and you are back to scoring perfection. Remember to reset whenever you upgrade the OS.
