Stigma: Mood Tracker & Journal

The personal journal is a lost art. We all know how beneficial it can be; journaling enhances self-awareness and helps us grow.

But we still don’t do it.

There are two problems with the traditional journal. First, it is a difficult habit to keep (we hold the expectation we must write out hundreds of words). Second, it is impossible to reflect on and grow from the thousands of bygone experiences trapped between the unread pages.

Stigma solves all that. Take 15 seconds to add a journal entry. The app organizes your entries into word-clouds to make self-reflection simple and meaningful. In short, Stigma is the personal journal, reinvented.

FEATURES:

– Word Clouds: A visual display of the most prominent words in your journal. We create word clouds of all your entries for any month or of the entries that contain a particular word of your choice such as a friend, a place, or activity.

– Quick Journal Entries: Each entry is limited to 200 characters, journaling what you are feeling, thinking, doing, where or who you are with in that moment. It takes less than 15 seconds.

– Average Mood Calendar: Your average mood is visualized on a graph to give you a glimpse into your well-being. You can see how your mood adjusts overtime, filtered by recent days, weeks, or months.

– Anonymous Entries: OPTIONALLY share and view ANONYMOUS public journal entries. You can 'heart' these entries to show someone that you care or can relate with their situation. This helps promote normalization, especially for those going through a tough time.

– Reminders: Set up to four daily reminders at the time at your convenience to easily keep the habit of journaling. If you journal two hours prior to a reminder we cancel that reminder for the day.

– Weekly Reflection: Every Sunday, receive an email with all of your journal entries from that week. This allows you to look back at the meaningful moments through your week to learn and grow from them.

Needs to eliminate word limits on journal entries
Bernard T.

The app is almost perfect! You can select a mood for the day, write journal entries, and connect with pen pals/support groups. It shows you a graph of your mood by day, week, or month, and a calendar is colour coded by day based on you sad/happy you were for each day (each day is a shade of green, and a greener day means a better overall mood whereas a yellower day means a worse overall mood). My main problem with this app, and the reason that I stopped using it, was the word limit on journal entries. This app would be perfect if you could record your mood without a word limit, but putting a word limit on each day is extremely restrictive and frustrating. If this one feature could be changed, the app would be perfect!

Love this app! But I have a few suggestions
Bekah912

This app is amazing and helps me track everything for my own mental health knowledge and so I can show my doctor. However, I don’t like the scale for rating how I’m feeling. I wish I could alter it and have my own words. Having angry and sad as the lowest ones doesn’t often explain my feelings. If we could have the option to change the wording for the scale, I would rate this at a 5!

old version better?
Lillygurlxoxoxoxoxo

while the new version is easier to understand i guess, I really liked he older version? There were a lot more moods to choose from, and i liked it more. Plus my pen pal page can’t load? And it took forever to find the community page when this new version came out. The community page has always been a really great part of the app, and should probably be easier to locate.

Stigma
In better hands

Seems like the app isn’t active because the journal prompt hasn’t changed for long time ?

Wish I could actually log in...
Orcaeve

I used to love this app, and I redownloaded it a couple of months ago. But no matter what I do, I can’t get past the login screen. The app always gives me the same “Oops, something went wrong! Try again later!” message when I try to log in with no explanation or help. I really wish I could actually use this app, but for now, it’s completely unusable.

Helpful

It has a helpful system for entries, I use it more like a diary but you can also message penpals and support groups. I would appreciate it if you could add pictures to entries, and have more graphs.

Can't log in or reset password
musicgurlkauai

I used this app a lot two years ago and it was brilliant! I'd like to usehit again but the password reset doesn't work and i can't log in with facebook

Lost data
kindredkitty

The app would not let me log in and kept saying I needed to log in again but never gave me the option after hitting ok the app would just go blank. I had to uninstall and reinstall the app which caused almost if not all of my data to be lost. It even made me sign in with PayPal but never mentioned a fee then charged me 1.99 without warning when I reinstalled the app. Not having the best experience with it :/

Penpal page broken
dotingdamsel

I’ve restarted the app and restarted my phone but the penpal page remains blank and empty...I can get messages but no get to the page to open them. I’ve reached out to support in app but to no response

Used to give this 5 stars
TehDEH

The facial mood tracker is absolutely useless so I turned that off straight away. Worse though is I’m completely unable to access the community - there’s no button for it anywhere, even though I can apparently post to it, and support is no help at all as they never once responded to me, even when the one time I could see the community prompts I saw a post threatening suicide on a certain date and reported it. Really made it seem like support can’t be bothered. Used to love this app but it’s pretty awful now.
