I’m a certified software tester and I have many apps (most of which are for food/drink places) on my phone. The Starbucks app is - by far - the most comprehensive, yet user-friendly, app there is. It’s SO convenient to pre-order, walk into or drive-thru Starbucks, and have my food/drink ready for me. And all of the available customizations allow me to have my drinks and food prepared EXACTLY how I want them. I absolutely LOVE ❤️ the Starbucks app.!

The versions of late are horrible

For a good long time the Starbucks app was a good app; not perfect, not terribly fancy but got the job done. It went down fairly infrequently. The most recent versions are so bad that I have largely curtailed my purchases at Starbucks: it’s that bad. It freezes; it forgets that you are logged in requiring you to re-login at very time you want to use it, while in line or in the car about to depart for the store. To top it all off, the app does not play well with Apple’s Keychain and dumps you to a message and not logging you in, despite the correct user id and password being entered by Keychain. I couldn’t tell you how buggy this process was in the past because I only had to do it once for many months on end, not three times a week like now. The app interface is really crappy too, focusing on marketing instead of service to the customer. This is probably a factor in the terrible unreliability of this piece of software. Avoid it until they can get their act together.

Great app, but please allow us to create a custom tip. It’s so frustrating that this hasn’t happened by now. The allotted increments for tipping are so strange.


Every update messes up my password

Like most people, I defer non-security updates as long as I can, but every few months I am forced to update to continue using the app. But weirdly, every time I update, it tells me my existing password is invalid. It means I must change my password to continue using it. It’s frustrating as I must go through the entire process to reset my password, when there’s no reason for it. Doubly frustrating as This typically happens when I’m trying to use the app, causing needless delays. Another issue: it would be nice when ordering to see the “recent locations” list in reverse order from when I last used the app there. Not sure why it insists on listing a place I visited once last year, and none I’ve been to recently.

I am a VIP customer as you can see. I spend a minimum of $400 a month. I just left your Topsham Maine store and, WOW ! So so rude. I always try to use the mobile order as I’m a working man and don’t have time to wait in the long drive through lines. It’s not working! I order at least 15 minutes in advance and still have to wait as they seem to focus mostly on drive through. I do believe that I am about done with Starbucks. It’s just not worth the attitude’s!
