Pay Up
Spiraled Palm

The game is ok at best. In game economics are odd and unbalanced. The time it takes to do anything is absurd. Be prepared to babysit your base and ships 24/7/365 and spend a LOT of money. The whales are huge on this game, some spending $300+ a day. You will never be able to catch up or even be competitive without spending cash. The notification system is rubbish. It’ll warn you a ship was destroyed but not when your base is raided. I played a year and spent way too much time and money just to be destroyed by someone who has only played a week because they have deeper pockets. It’s a Star Trek game in looks but not ethos. Saddening.

Boldy go where your credit card has never gone before

I’ve been playing this game for a few years a lot of content is available but the whole game is pretty much designed to get you to spend money. Here’s how Events specially designed for you to waste resources repairing ships Missions that require you to have to “donate” large amounts of resources to pass them To upgrade your ships, officers, and station you have to mine cumbersome amount of materials that can take weeks to do if you don’t purchase and once you do you have to often wait 6-7 days while the item upgrades. On top of this if you decide to not pay for things to advance you’re constantly at the mercy of players that do since this entire game is a PvP space box. Next I have to tell you the game is incredibly buggy the shields that protect your station and your resources routinely fail. While you think it’s awesome that they have a contact us button they will do nothing for you EVEN IF YOU HAVE SCREENSHOTS they give you a generic copy pasta and refuse to engage with you, they write a response and close the ticket. Great open communication right? So if you are looking for a game with toxic players and paywalls with terrible customer service look no farther.

Wanted to like it
Blancwolf

I really wanted to like the game. Even understanding that it’s just another grind to level your equipment to get better resources and equipment so it’s just like any other game out there but with a Star Trek flavor. PVP did it for me though. Getting attacked by ships that are outranking you by 5+ levels is not enjoyable nor is it really PVP. In other games I believe the term is tanking. It isn’t once or twice...it’s consistent every time I open the game. Park your ships at your base and wake up to find them destroyed. All the resources you’ve gathered...gone when someone realizes they can best you and attack 30 times. Buy a peace shield...great and it works till it runs out and then things start all over again. The PVP concept is just broken. If you don’t like PVP stay far away. If you do more power to you just be ready for a long grind when someone finds your base and decides to take an interest.

Nothing but a bunch of bullies. Targeted harassment. Very very very expensive if you want to survive. If you’re using your daddy‘s child support money then it’s a perfect game for you.

Theme and platform are interesting enough, but...
RandomMe-SA

Played the game daily for last 10 months and just left the game due to the many glitches. Scopely spends a lot of effort to bring new content and events, but doesn’t spend much time or focus on game stability, or algorithm checks...The last straw for me was upgrading my first faction ship and noticed the upgrades would keep knocking down my overall ship power. I got the screen shots and sent to the support team. They acknowledge the glitch and recognize the frustration for players to grow but can’t explain it and said they will keep investigating. I’m not spending anymore time or money on this. Others beware!

Constant crashing
Texxboy

Enhancements are nice but when are you going to address the constant crashing? I bet it crashes at least one every 15 minutes. Turns a decent game into a piece of crap. And everything is way too expensive in this game.

Don’t waste your time
Ape lord

This is a game for whales. If you are interested in being a whale you are too late and you’ll never dislodge the current whales from the limited resource points. Scopely freely allows players that are so much higher in level to attack lower level players as “content”. If a player has zero chance against you because they are fifteen levels lower, why allow pvp between them? Oh because the whales need someone to attack they can beat because they can’t defeat ea h other. Waste your time if you choose but this game is done for.

Don't, Just Don't

While the STFC app has some fun parts to it, the server sizes are small. The population on their servers is small enough that it is not uncommon for players to bully other players to follow "rules" which are not in the TOS under threat of having your "work" and "property" destroyed. Another significant flaw is that if you buy a product, and another player "raids" (destroys) your base, they in effect steal what you purchased with real world funds. My experience of the gameplay is that it encourages bullying and indirectly encourages theft among players. When contacted for support Scopely has not been responsive. They have eventually responded but it is slow and mediocre at best. I've been around a number of MMO's. The customer service for this platform is by far the weakest I've encountered. They appear reluctant to respond and seldom accept that there is a programming error (glitch) in the code even when gameplay would indicate there is. Of course a company is going to be slow to admit/take responsibility for an error, unfortunately these makers appear to take the "cat approach" (of course cattitude comes in many forms): 1. Yes, I see it but I won't acknowledge it; it is beneath me to do so; 2. Yes, I saw it as I sontered by and pawed at it, but it's of no concern. 3. What problem? I don't see a problem. 4. Oh, that? Yes, I fixed that problem. No need to concern yourself with that. Pay attention to ME! 5. Oh, you exist! Feed me! All in all, it's an interesting and lucrative (for ownership) platform, but for the casual player it's a game which should be avoided. If you are a hardcore MMO type with cash to burn, this game is for you! However, mortals like the rest of us are better on another platform.

Cash cow
Siaco_wolfpack

I give it two stars because the game is set up to milk money from the players. Yes it is free, but like all of capitalism, you can only go so far if you don’t buy the in app purchases.
