There are two subscription option available for purchase: $4.99 per month and $49.99 per year (Save 17% with the annual) plan. New content is continuously being published by our writers. Your account will automatically renew at the end of each month or year depending on your subscription. Payment will be charged to your iTunes account at confirmation of purchase. Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. You can manage your subscription and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to user account settings after purchase. No cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during active subscription period.

Paid $59 5/1/21 had access to content for about 2 months. I was cut off and when I complained and asked for a refund I was told I got my money’s worth, that they knew of the glitch couldn’t fix it at the time. 9 months later still don’t have access after numerous complaints. Don’t get taken like I did!
I am a slate plus subscriber. After installing the latest version, the app logged me out and the page in the app where you can sign in will not load. Please fix this bug because the content Slate provides is the perfect balance of snark, analysis, and humanity that I crave.
The Slate+ paywall was a reasonable ask before the app started signing you out and then not letting you sign back in. The “sign in” page goes blank when you click the link. I’m discontinuing my support until I’m getting what I paid for. Weeks of this problem is nonsense.
The login function in the app is broken. I can still login just fine on the Internet using Safari on my phone, but I can’t login to the app. Just get a blank screen or an error message when I click login. Incompetent developers.
I have never written an app review, until now. The app is useless, and as others have pointed out, it won’t allow you to sign in, it crashes, and it’s buggy. I paid for a subscription, the app should work. This shouldn’t be that difficult. They need to get it together and fix this ASAP.
Great content but I have to keep logging in. Annoying. Worse it won’t even let me login. Broken app makes slate plus pointless. I’ll just listen to the podcasts with commercials on stitcher.
Content is fine but about every 3-5 minutes ( on a bad day- sometimes it doesn’t happen but usually does), the app will either freeze (can’t scroll at all) or just quit/blank. Or, it will ask for a sign-in to SlatePlus (even for free content) and then freeze at the sign-in page.
The log in bug persists. I must re-log in whenever I close and reopen the app. The only “improvement” from prior version is that I can at least navigate to the log in page and log in.
Please for the love of god stop displaying everything in italics! Also — it’s been over a week that they’re aware that the app doesn’t honor Slate Plus memberships and they haven’t fixed the problem.
I didn’t mind all that much when I got logged out randomly all the time but I could still read articles while not logged in. Now I can’t read articles unless I’m logged in, the app logs me out all the time, and there’s a solid chance that login will be broken when I try to get back in. Really, OAuth is too complicated and cutting edge to keep working from day to day? Fire everybody involved (if it’s outsourced, fire whoever chose the vendor.)
