Hey Signal. You are a communication app. Not a social media app. If I don’t want to put a name in my profile, I shouldn’t need to. People who know my number know my name and it will populate from the contacts on their device. If I didn’t choose to give them my name before, I shouldn’t be forced to give them my name now just because THEY are contacting ME.
Editing Function Broken / App Stops Working

Several friends report that the app stopped working on their phone, with no warning. Now this is an obstacle for me because I cannot use it to stay in touch with people I care about. NOT. GOOD. Also, since three updates ago, the editing function is haywire. After typing text, then scrolling up/down to edit, the cursor randomly jumps to some other spot on the page instead of where you try to place it. Or, if you try highlighting something, the function highlights much more than what you select - but not necessarily any of the text you actually wanted. In the end, it is actually easier to cut the message, paste it into some other app, edit it there, then paste it back into Signal. Ugh! None one of my other apps do this. Meanwhile, I installed the latest update on 10/26 but this problem remains. So, PLEASE FIX ALREADY!!!

I have had repeated instances where the connection has been dropped after a several hour period of non use. I have repeatedly asked Signal for assistance or at least a explanation. They have NEVER RESPONDED. You get no support from this company.

iPad: when sending an item via the share sheet, signal contacts are displayed in a seemingly random order, rather than mirroring their order when using the app. iPhone and iPad: when viewing a thread with a new message in the app, the conversation scrollview no longer jumps to the latest message. The user has to scroll down manually. These regressions were recently introduced, maybe 6-8 weeks ago. Please fix!
Worked amazingly until it didn’t

This app was SO amazing until it stopped working! Unfortunately now if some of my contacts haven’t opened the app for a couple hours they won’t get any notifications for messages I send. The messages send to the server, but won’t deliver to their device until they open the app again. Also, the call feature consistently fails to ring on my end and on theirs. They will call but I don’t get any notification of it until I open the app and see the missed call message. These seem like fundamental things that a messenger service should get right.

Gotten too complicated

Used to be a great app. Their new transfer method is a sh*% show. Did not work on my iPhone 12. When it failed a couple of times, they locked me out. They need to get back to basics, and stop messing with it!
