A (Worthwhile) Work in Progress
Esfrank

Probably more stars than the current version deserves, but RTC should be encouraged to complete the development of this app. I'd give it five stars if it actually did everything in the app that it promises to do. At the moment, it's very much a work in (initial) progress. For example, the current iteration of the Ride Tracker drops off into Safari to look up stops. Unfortunately, the stop finder tool on RTC's web site is coded in Flash, which makes that effort meaningless. If that had worked, it wants to use a stop ID that was to have been supplied by the stop finder tool. Dropping into Chrome on my desktop so that stop finder tool can work (I long ago removed Flash from my browser of choice :-)) shows me the stops on my routes, but no stop IDs. Need I go on?

Thank God for this app!!

I love this app because I really use everyday to get to work. I don't have time to go buy the pass at the transit since I don't live near there or ever go to the transit. Now I can just purchase it thru my phone and be on my way. It is easy to use and easy to purchase ur pass. Thanks again!!

I could not save my credit card data in this app.

It is very useful. But I could not save my credit card data for pass payment.

Needs setting controls

Either update the app to leave the brightness setting alone, or put a settings control option to change the brightness. There is absolutely no reason for the brightness of the screen to be all the way up killing batteries.

Lost money and irritating to use
Captain Kade

My wife an I were visiting Vegas and thought this would be the best way to manage bus rides/passes. That was a mistake. In addition to the annoyance of having to reactivate the passes each time as another reviewer mentions, this app stole some money! We bought (2) 3-day passes, but after 1.5 days it said the passes were not longer active. They appeared in my "history", but no longer usable. I thought this should be a <relatively> easy fix since the history clearly showed the date purchased & activated, that they were indeed 3-day passes, and it was still clearly within that time period (by 36 hours). Called the RTC, and after a 10 mi use wait, the tech was nice but not able to help. She said she discussed with her supervisor, and that she had to pass it on to him. I explained I was only in town for a short time, and wanted to use the passes' she told me they would call me back shortly. After hanging up and waiting 15 minutes, I emailed them (which is the apps version of "help"), attached a screen shot, included my assigned case number from the tech, and briefly explained again. A week later; still no call or email. I wound up using two cabs ($40) because I wasn't going to donate more money to the RTC. For a State and City that relies so heavily on tourism (8% sales tax plus extra hotel taxes) this is not a good way to treat people! Lost roughly $30 dollars in the app. Buyer BEWARE.

Not so reliable
O.G. Ninja

The whole point of downloading this app is to know what time you can catch the bus at. So far this app has proved unreliable when using to catch the 103 Northbound on multiple occasions. I ended up accusing the bus driver of being late and was informed the bus times for 103 have changed from every half hour to every 20 mins which is obviously not indicated o this app. My only reason for use of this app is to arrive to my destination on time, I can't do that using this app always so it gets 1 of 5 stars only.

What's the point?
anyonewhousesthis

What's the point of this app? It's main function should be to make it all inclusive. Not just sending back to the website that directed me to the app.. makes no sense.

I can't open my app for some reason. Never happened before, is there anyway to clear this up. My phone is up to date and has no technical issues. The app opens for a second then closes again. Please help!

Invalid?????

Umm. Purchased a $65 residential bus pass on 5-30 and when I used the app on 6-5, it said invalid............. please fix the problem asap. The bus driver was awesome, he still let me in.

Good app

UPDATED REVIEW: I'm going to assume the issue regarding having to repeatedly activate longer passes has been fixed as stated in the version notes for the last update (can't verify this since I'm no longer in Vegas), and I'm increasing my rating from 3 stars to 4. I used this app a lot to buy passes and never had any issues. Loved the convenience of showing or scanning the pass on my phone when boarding the bus. I think the app still has some room to grow, but this is more high-tech than a lot of cities' bus systems. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I like being able to buy a pass through the mobile app and just have to show it on my phone to the driver when I board a bus, but there's one part of the design that's just makes absolutely no sense. I bought a 15-day residential pass and found that the pass wouldn't stay in an active state -- I had to activate the pass every time I boarded a bus (even multiple times in one day). I called RTC customer service thinking there must be a problem with the app, but the rep checked with someone who told her that the app is working as designed. That's a really bad (and inexplicable) design. Once you activate your pass, it should stay active for the entire length of the pass.
