User experience needs help
Lancelot7

The invite guests process is painful. OpenTable makes it easy, not Resy. Little things like entering a validation code. Doesn’t work with iOS codes. Have to do it manually. Many other examples of too much unnecessary complexity. I always grimace when a restaurant says they use Resy. I am sure that is not the desired user expectation.

So annoying
Dropped call

Too many steps, constant issues with Cc on file (i.e. my CC are fine but only Resy rejects them). Bye Felicia.

Unpractical app

Can’t look for a specific location, can’t search for a specific time, app is not functional. Don’t get how Resy thinks this is how to design an app.

Not able to notify on app but able on website
arnie876

So many bugs. Many notify don’t show on app because it says “we can’t accommodate reservation please select a different date” but then going online it shows the notify button on the website. This has been happening to many restaurants not being able to notify

I used to love this app but it is really bad now. Notify button no longer exists. Support says that they don’t know when it will be back or what the problem is. Restaurants put very few tables on here so it’s impossible to get a reservation. I sure hope tock or open table overtakes them because they have gotten complacent and now the app and service is bad.

Search Function & Reservation Changes are Horrible
avgwhitedude

Trying to search and filter your criteria on the app is atrocious. When you use the map to zoom in on an area, it doesn’t dynamically change your surface area range. It still sticks to the same zone of 4-5 sq. Blocks. Also there are WAY more cuisines than the “popular” ones you list. When I try to search for “Asian” you give me American and Mexican results?? Changing a reservation like adding 1 more or 1 less also is an absolute nightmare. You essentially have to cancel the reservation and start over again…

Foodie’s fright is Resy

Resy is, by far, the most frustrating, poorly designed reservation app on the market. Why so many restaurants are connected to it is a complete mystery. Why the developers of the app don’t fix the glaring errors, glitches, bugs, and horrible UX, I don’t understand. If I didn’t absolutely have to use this awful piece of software that works like it was designed by a 12 year old on summer vacation to make reservations, trust me I never would. Here are just a few of the horrible features of the Resy user experience: -the search function is complete inconsistent, after you click through to one restaurant always takes you back to the macro view of the MSA you are searching no matter how finely detailed your search was. -When you use the “notify” feature, which in theory is great, once you’ve put on two notifys for the time period you are searching in the app automatically changes the date forward by one day. If you don’t realize it, your notifications are for the wrong date. -Once you have put on one notify, the next one has no available times after the earliest time you’ve set the previous notify for. For example, if you set a notify at restaurant A for 7 to 8 pm on Thursday, then when you try to set a notify at restaurant B you can only set the notify at 7. You then have to go into your profile, open your notifys and change the time at restaurant B manually to 7 to 8. -One last scathing remark, although I have more but I’ll refrain, is that if you are trying to search for availability at a particular restaurant there is no functionality to open the calendar and see other dates than the one you are searching. Sometimes, if you tap on the date about 20 times, you can get the calendar to open, so clearly it is meant to function that way, but it does not. I’ll just add that I have the latest iPhone with the most up to date iOS and I’m tech savvy. I’m also about as much of a foodie as you can find so I’m facile with every reservation system: open table, Tock, seven rooms and Resy. It is beyond belief that restaurants base their livelihood on this piece of trash app without a thought to the fact that it’s their diner’s first experience with their establishment. It’s also beyond belief that no one at Resy has bothered to use this app and seen these glaring errors. Make a reservation people, experience this and fix this thing please.

App has gone so downhill. So many glitches, you can’t set up a resy notify when you search for a restaurant anymore.

Location Bugs Make This App Barely Usable
goodersss

Searching another city for a specific type of cuisine is nearly impossible on the mobile app…

Does Resy do user testing?
suttonplaceguy

At one point, Resy was a 5 star app. Now, 1 star is generous. Here are the reasons: - when a restaurant is booked for the request date, the “notify” booking feature isn’t available (or perhaps it’s hidden?) - when looking to make a reservation, it’s not possible to know if a restaurant is accepting reservations or if they are booked - searching by time is either not possible or is buried in the app I don’t know what happened with Resy, at one point it was the easiest reservation app to use. At this point, I recommend not wasting your time with this app
