Not so "Pro"

Price is high for a non-perfect client, especially when compared to the competition. This client has issues with certain apps, most noticeably is homebrew for mac. Trying to install anything via "brew install" results in the terminal just hanging when it should update the progress bar. This client also has no "fullscreen" mode, so if you're planning on using this with vim to code on the couch be prepared for various bars that cannot be hidden. Overall this client is just way to expensive for what you get. Cannot recommend next to others in the App Store.

Great app, some bugs.

Prompt is excellent, a notable SSH solution for iOS. I've noticed some bugs when editing config files via SSH while using Prompt. Notably, when back spacing, Prompt tries to clear the entire line if I backspace more than five or so characters consecutively, even at intermittent intervals. Secondly, when it clears the line it does this weird thing where it overlaps two or more lines atop each other, and sometimes even merges two lines at odd offsets.. Other than that, besides that it isn't so good as an SSH command line editor, it's absolutely great for everything else I've needed it to do.

Good but have space to improve

Prompt 2 might be the best SSH console on App Store. It resolves many tiny issues with other alternatives that will bother you a lot. But it still have some defects. I bought Prompt 2 because it claims to support third party keyboard, but it turns out you can only use a soft keyboard. I mean, if you'd like to input something with you physical keyboard as well as a third party input method, you will be definitely disappointed.

Would rate it 5 but I can't see what I type in telnet

Could you please fix it too make it where I can see what I type in telnet like juice ssh that's a pretty good app for android and it's free

Good. Few Suggestions.

I love this app. I use it to SSH into my Synology DiskStation all the time. I highly recommend this app. I would really like to see two improvements: support for physical keyboards and support for ed25519 keys. Each of those would easily be worth an extra start. Keep up the good work. I love your apps.

Worth it

Before this app I tried others trying to be able to communicate with my raspberry Pi. This app allowed me to do so very effectively and wasn't too hard to figure out at all. I highly recommend this app.

Better than any ssh client on ANY platform

Love this tool. Quick, convenient, UX is amazing. Whomever built this is clearly a user of it as well and not just for hire.

Indispensable and a shining example of UX

This app is incredibly useful sure. What never ceases to amaze me is the level of detail had been paid in its design. It is a shining example of excellent UX in a very difficult app. Who would have thought it would actually be comfortable to shell in and do work on a tiny iPhone screen. Amazing work Panic!

Falling behind the competition

2017 UPDATE: They got rid of statusboard, and it seems like they're giving up on this app as well. ServerAuditor (now Termius) has made tons of insane improvements like syncing across ALL of your devices, not just your iOS, or even Apple devices. ALL of them. They even have a command line interface available. Even with all that greatness I was reluctant to make the change, but the deciding factor was definitely the persistent connections. I'm not sure if its the new added Mosh support or what, cause I still get a pop up my sessions will disconnect, but they don't. I can leave the app for two hours, come back, and continue where I left off. So happy to not have to deal with screen or tmux anymore. Screen is nice on Linux since you can disown and reattach a process with Reptyr, but on Mac or Win you're pretty much out of luck and have to restart jobs all over again. I'd rather buy a McDouble and throw it out the window than spend even $0.99 on the App Store. There's no logic, but I just don't like to spend money on apps. $7.99 was outrageous to me even to consider buying anything, which I understand makes no sense. So I pirated this app on Cydia for a good couple months before realizing this app is a steal at $8. Stop looking around for something better, ServerAuditor is really good too, but this app allows you to root into your iPhone if you're jail broken. And for anyone that is, you know all the terminal apps on Cydia are worthless. Do yourself a favor and buy this app, skip lunch today if you need the money.

Top SSH client now with Ed25519 Support!

ShmooSr

Previous version of Prompt 2 were already in the category of best ssh clients out there for iOS. The addition of Ed25519 key support has been long in coming, but definitely something I was waiting on. If you’re looking for solid, well supported, and slick ssh client for iOS, Prompt 2 is it. Working great and I couldn’t be happier… …Well, mosh support would be even bestest!
