"PointOut is a free app for iPhone and iPad that supports multiple types of image annotations and canvas layouts. You can add pointers, borders, split the canvas in multiple sections (each zoomed on a specific image detail), and tweak colors and thickness for every element. It's a powerful image annotation app with more options and controls than the simple (but also excellent) Pinpoint. But, I'm primarily interested in PointOut's diagram-like loupe, added in the latest update and which matches exactly what I need for my iOS screenshots." – macstories.net

> get a picture
You can paste image from the system's clipboard, use the most recent image (last taken photo/screenshot), take a picture, or pick the image from your Photo Library. Use 3D Touch Quick Actions, or URL Schemes, to do it even faster.

> place a pointer
Pick a Layout and choose one of the pointers. You can turn some of the pointers off, too.

> zoom in
Use the pinch gesture or touch the scale bar to quickly set the chosen image scale. You can also change other various things – canvas size, colors, filters, shapes, borders ...

> share
Post the image directly on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram, or use the Share Sheet to do other nice things with it.

"I’ve been using PointOut personally for these past few weeks and it’s not an app that I use every day, but it is something that is very useful when trying to explain anything to anyone. I open it more often that I expected to and it’s one of those things that you don’t know you’ll miss until you don’t have it anymore." – infinitediaries.net

Super!
Kam1l

Piękna i prosta w użyciu, a także jakże funkcjonalna. Super! Wprawdzie jest pare drobnych błędów więc czekam na przyszłe aktualizacje. Co nie zmienia faktu, że Marek wykonał doskonałą robotę. Brawo! ? Polecam każdemu

Enjoy your Trippo!

Happy 1st birthday!

Nice and looking forward

Nice tool. I still use Skitch a lot but PointOut offers a different approach to make image indications and the frame with the zoom in is useful. I'm still missing a Photos extension and handling the pointer/arrow continues to be a little bit awkward, not exactly easy to adjust. Looking forward how this app evolves.

Nice!

But they want too much Coffee! A great idea though. And useful.

Great app

This app is great for lawyers who need to mark up or magnify an image to be used as an exhibit. It is easy to use and it's free.

App UI Frustrating, Logo annoying when using free
PriRmentndo

I understand iap, but putting the logo on the free version is a bit much. It's better to have limited use than that. While ok as a Messages app, I found the iOS app's so frustrating and awkward that when coupled with the logo issue I have, I deleted the app entirely. Nice try for giving a unique UI a go, but it just didn't work.

Use it every day

This app has become a staple for me since I take a lot of pictures of parts I've tested at work. Now I can easily point out features of test parts so the receiving engineer doesn't have to zoom in to see. The main thing I'd like to see added is to have more than 3 magnifying glasses added as I often take pictures of 4 or more separate parts. The work around for this is to set up your 3 view windows/magnifying glasses then save and open your saved pic and continue adding viewers as needed which now leaves me with a 3rd copy of the same picture. I'll allow it since it's a version 1.x app and hopefully they fix this and maybe have an option to automatically lock the pic in place after selecting a pic to load, often I have went to move a view window and moved the whole pic instead, a simple toggle in settings could fix this. Bonus star for the added emoji arrows.

Deleted it after first use

I thought this was a clever idea, so I downloaded the app. However on first use I found the interface to be ridiculously in intuitive. You would think it would be simple to drag and drop an arrow right? NO! I spent ten minutes trying to get a simple arrow to point at a specific point on a photo. The arrow doesn't move it just pins. When you look for the instructions again they can't be found. Only some idiotic story about coffee. The default arrow shape doesn't even look like an arrow! It's this round hook shape thing that is simply stupid. Hated my experience with this overly complicated mess.

I want to love it but...

The arrows are really annoying and frustrating as I just can’t get them to stay where I put them. It makes the app useless unless you just wan’t to have a few pics on it and don’t plan to use it as it is meant to be used. I truly hope this is fixed. I’ve been waiting or a year or so. Nothing new yet.
