Games $0.99 Jonathan Tenkely iPhone, iPad, iPod

Pickn’ Stix is a simple point-and-choose style game, where a player’s close observation of the intertwined sticks allows them the opportunity to earn points by choosing the top stick on the pile. A modern day adaptation of the classic Pickup Sticks game for your iPhone, iPod Touch, and now iPad is a great way for kids and adults to spend some time thinking, concentrating, and winning!

This colorful and easy to play game is fun for all ages and allows for light play any time you like. Choose the top stick from the pile and try to beat your best time. An incorrect stick choice adds penalty seconds to your time.

With simple controls, it’s an easy way to keep everyone from 4 to 40 occupied and having fun.

"And if they (sic) can figure out a way to get a kid to give the iPhone back to you after you've let 'em play for a while, they'll (sic) have it made! " - TUAW.com

"A vintage, vintage game, this app asks you to do precisely one thing. Doing that one thing is easy, and strangely gratifying." - Gizmodo.com

A great app to keep the kids busy!
Steve from the Ranch

Pickin' Stix took me back to my childhood, when I had a little cylinder filled with colofrul plastic "Pickup Sticks". You'd toss 'em in a pile, and then try to pick them up without disturbing the other sticks. Not only was it a great way to stay engrossed for a while, but it was also teaching me and my friends manual dexterity, as well as how to use our depth and relational perception to figure out how to move a stick without moving any others. Now Jonathan Tenkely has come out with his iPhone version, just the thing to pass to the kids when they're bored and you want to keep them out of trouble. With Pickin' Stix, you shake the iPhone to "toss" the 47 sticks, then use a finger to "pick them up". The better you do at tapping on the top sticks, the faster you'll get done. The only complaint I have is that Pickin' Stix, currently in a 1.0 release, has no way to keep your best time or to compare your time to others. I'd also like to see an advanced mode with more sticks to pick up for an additional challenge, and a way to pause a game.

Ridiculously addictive!

A great way to distract yourself during boring meetings or conference calls.

This game rocks!!!!!!!!!

This game is soooo awesome! It is a great way to pass time. Even though it can get pretty challenging, it is a great game. I'm going to tell all of my friends about this new app. And again I say, THIS GAME ROCKS!!!

GREAT GAME ANYWHERE
mdusing

This game is great for when you need to kill time. Wish is kept track of your best times and your high scores. Love even let my kids play. Reminds me of when I was a kid playing this with stix.

Quiets Down the Kids!!!!
LongTimeFannnn

This addictive little app requires just enough concentration that my six year old opens his mind and closes his lips long enough to best his best time. It's a virtual way of sharing a favorite childhood game with my kids, without someone getting an eye poked out by an errant stick. The thing that makes this game really fun is something you won't realize until after you buy it. The timer adds an element of challenge that prevents you from setting it down and going on to something else. You'll feel like an internal gauntlet has been laid down to see how many seconds you could shave off your time, if you just played it one more time. Yeah, one more. That's all. Okay ONE more. All right ONE MORE TIME. Just once. Okay, I promise. Just one more......WARNING!!!!!!! IT'S MENTALLY ADDICTIVE. In a good way.

Very cool...

beware you need 2.2.1 to run this 2.2 not good enough
aka LGgeek

In the app description it says you need 2.2.1 like most people I know my phone says 2.2 (in itunes and on phone) always good enough it the past. well not anymore the developer says "you are running iPhone OS 2.2. It is stated on the Pickin' Stix product page, your phone needs to be running the latest 2.2.1 (5H11) ". I usually upgrade on major release and am not going to upgrade my phone with every minor release as it's usually not worth the problems you can get from apple. Now I have to worry about developers creating software that will only run on a particular minor release, don't think so. Looks like the app store is on a down hill slide, most folks will not deal with figuring out which minor release they need for which app. They got my $.99 , I consider it a cheap lesson.

a whole new world

Pickin' Stix: Great sound affects. Easy to control. Fun to play. Very colorful. Just like the real game. I'm hooked on this colorful kid friendly game. At first I was scared to buy this. I thought it would crash have jitters and tons of bugs but I was wrong. My family and I are going on a family road trip on Sunday I'll be sure to be playing this the whole way there. The reason why is because I'M HOOKED! Reveiw by Ricky Bibb 
