Kaleidoscope is based on an anonymously written program of the same name for the DEC PDP-8 computer. It was somewhat remarkable because the original program was only about 40 bytes long yet generated complex moving patterns consisting of various conic sections (circles, ellipses, parabolas and hyperbolas).
It would have been nice if the developer included the pdp-8 assembly code for this program. For nostalgia.
