"Parabola" tells you everything you ever needed to know about parabolas but were afraid to ask.
Enter a quadratic function in standard, vertex, or intercept form, and this application instantly displays:
- The orientation of the parabola
- The coordinates of the vertex
- The axis of symmetry
- The coordinates of the focus
- The equation of the directrix
- The x-intercepts
- The y-intercept
As if that's not enough, this application converts quadratic functions between standard, vertex, and intercept form automatically.
Since it's crucial for students to understand the concepts behind the formulas, "Parabola" includes a thorough explanation of the computations that are performed.
Students and teachers will find this application to be indispensable.

very deep coverage of parabolas (as the name implies!). you need this app when studying quadratic functions. would change my review to 5 stars if i could graph each parabola.
Good app, the major positive thing is that it is free. But if you are looking for really good Quadratic app, with graphs, Quadratic equations and inequations, infos about how to solve..., then check 'Quadratic Master' by Glimsoft.
It does what you need it to and it's free! I wish I would have discovered this when I took Algebra II, but I still use it anytime I'm working with parabolas. This app is a must for any math student!
Its free, so that's two stars, but that is all it will get. What makes it useless for me: 1.) Does not allow for vertical parabolas. I need it to solve equations in the form of x=ay^2+by+c not y= 2.) Gives answers in rounded decimal form. Why not just give a fraction. That is what I need and it is an exact answer. If i need to find the decimal form i will divide the fractions and round it to whatever I do need. What makes it good. 1) Like I said befor it's free. 2) If you are doing basic parabolas its fine, as long as you arn't involved with conic sections. 3)It's free.
Note to Antihero739: The app can still be used for equations of the form x = ay^2 + by + c. Simply switch x and y in all the answers! The tutorial is outstanding. Thanks for making the app free. Very helpful for class.
I loved this but I wish you would update it and allow me to put in certain points that I know are on the graph and have it calculate the equation for it but really nice job you helped me get a 90 on a test please also I would really love to see a inequality feature
