It’s the ultimate Grammar and arcade game challenge!
Great concept but u need to tell the kids the correct answers and sometimes the definition of things (ie. Parallel construction), else they don't understand why they got it wrong
Ive been waiting till this app to come out after purchasing the work book. To give out a review, I'm overall satisfied with the quality of this app, since this app is given free. I'm glad I downloaded this and I'm happy that I have an excuse to mom why I have my iPod touch on my hand 24-7. (:
I like the exercises, but at the end it simply tells you how well you did without letting you know which ones you got wrong! How can kids learn if they don't know what they did wrong??? If I'm missing the answer/explanations page, please let me know.
I mean it helps to refresh memory but you cant see what yougot wrong so its pointless ifyou get... Say 60%
Doesn't show what you miss, just your percentages. I want my students to know what they get wrong.
This game is a fun way to review grammar leisurely or use as a refresher before taking an English class. It is from Barron's who is a big name in study guides for all ages. The concept behind this grammar challenge is simple in that you take a quiz, and if you score high enough you get to play a game. The game does not unlock/become available until you have gotten the required score. For quiz 1, for example, you have to get an 80%. The major flaw with this game is that you just are told your percentage at the end, and not told what you missed or an explanation on what you missed. If you are looking for a fun way to learn grammar, this is worth your time. However, for studying you should pick a different app. :)
I would love it but for the baffling absence of identification and explanation of mistakes, which makes the app totally useless. What were they thinking? Not enough.
I thought this app would be good to use with the students I work with in a middle school and high school. It is too difficult for them and it does not tell the correct answers so that it can be a learning tool.
It's tough! I tried the first exam and could not pass it until I bought the book - I am glad I did! You can use it to test how knowledgable you are in grammar. Yes, they should give you the answers with explanations.
