The Old House Journal app contains redesigned, interactive, full-version digital editions of the current issues, as well as digital copies of the print edition for back issues of the magazine. The app contains a free preview sample of the interactive magazine. Also available through this app is the 2012 annual Old-House Restoration Guide.
The Old House Journal auto-renewing subscription is $16.99 for one year. It includes eight issues of the magazine. The subscription does not include back issues or the Old-House Guide issue. Payment will be charged to iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. Account will be charged $16.99 for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period. Subscriptions may be managed by the user and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to the user's Account Settings after purchase. Seriously the last time your app updated it took 4 months and countless emails, posts and stalking to get my subscription to work and here we go again. Fire your developers cause they have failed you and you are failing me. Back to paper
Needs more of a sample

This looks like it could be a great magazine/app but the " sample" only gives you a letter from the editor & the table of contents. I need more before I would buy. Writing style? Depth of articles? Anything. This is just a big shiney ad.
I wish print subscribers had free access to the digital copy

I downloaded the Old House Journal app this morning and was disappointed to learn that existing print subscribers do not receive free access to the digital copy. Many other magazines offer this benefit and I hope that you will begin doing so as well.
Don't bother until fixed

Downloaded app and immediately subscribed, unfortunately, it won't let me download any issues. When I try, I get an error message that I must upgrade to newer version of the app even though no newer version is available. Useless app and I'm out $10 for my subscription.

I have a print subscription to this magazine. Unless I am missing it, there is no place for me to put in my information in order to receive the digital copy, like most magazines allow. Seems like a pretty big oversight.
UPDATE!!! App Crashes! Been like this for Months!

NOW they have updated the app, the individual issues will not download!!! For three weeks now I have been getting an error message that states the app cannot connect to the server and to try again later! PLEASE OHJ, get your act together or refund my money! now with your update, the issues won't even download! DO NOT SUBSCRIBE! Even after you download a full issue, you cannot open and read the issue unless you have an internet connection. This has been a persistent problem for MONTHS and it has not been fixed. What use is a digital magazine if you have to be online in order to read it? Hey OHJ, fix the glitch already!

Since they updated this app, I have lost all access to my previous magazines or any new ones. Restore does not work. Emailed Developer and no response. Spoke to iTunes and they cannot help since they did not develop app. Very Upset!
