Here's the scenario - so you see the northern lights (!! - awesome for you, by the way), but you don't have a fancy digital camera with you. Thankfully, you have your trusty iPhone or iPad!
OK! Now what??
Do you know the tips and tricks to take photos of the northern lights ? Great, if you do! Enable manual mode; set the focus to infinity; change the temperature to a certain number; change the ISO between certain values; change the shutter speed to something else....wait what...?
Don't worry, this app does all of that for you so all you have to do is find those lights. ISO, shutter speed, long exposure mode, temperature, check check check. There are 3 presets that you can choose from based on the brightness of the aurora lights that you're seeing. Those don't work? Try out custom mode until you get that 'good-enough-for-me-to-show-to-my-friends' snap and take as many photos as you'd like!
Worth a shot ! (hah..a...was funny when this was typed...)
Stoned, whiskey drunk. Should’ve read the directions. Take only memories, lead only footprints
Wow this app is amazing. 10/19/17 2AM - 9/11/18 rushed outside to take a few pics only to realize those photos weren’t good so I missed those opportunities as the lights danced above me I randomly frantically searched on YouTube “Northern lights app” I found a clip of a tourist that used this app to capture them she said “it’s only 99c” so I took a chance and wow i was surprised for 99c it really worked
if you’re a complete photo noob THIS APP IS FOR YOU! I know absolutely nothing about camera settings and still managed to get STUNNING photos of the northern lights in Iceland. It has pre-set settings, just point and snap! Great app for people who really don’t understand the appropriate settings that cameras need to be on to capture something as special as the northern lights.
I purchased this app in hopes of catching the northern lights in Iceland. It was a level 3 night so the lights were not strong. This app caught nothing on a tripod. My DSLR caught beautiful pics! So disappointed. Didn’t expect it to catch pics like my DSLR but something would have sufficed. I got black pictures. Bummer!
for 99 cents, you're making a mistake, since you're just letting more grain appear and barely anything on the app is smooth.
I’ve used this app for 3 years now up here in Alaska. Tonight the lights were out and now all of sudden it won’t work. It keeps stating doesn’t have permission to use camera
Got this app based on friends recommendation. The app does a great job and is very simple to understand.
