NerdCalc

NerdCalc is a binary, hexadecimal and decimal calculator that displays all three number bases at the same time. With NerdCalc, you can quickly switch which base you are inputting and the result of your calculations is always updated for all three bases, no matter what the current input mode. NerdCalc supports both unsigned and 2’s complement, to allow for negative numbers, and can perform basic arithmetic and logic operations as well as bitwise shifting. Enjoy!

Extremely intuitive user interface. Rich functionality. I especially like the ability to do bit manipulations like Shift, And, Or, XOR. Nice design!!!!!

I've download several calculators and this is by far the best. The interface is simple and easy to understand. I really like how it calculates binary, hexadecimal and decimal values all at the same time. It's a steal for .99 cents and a must have for anyone who crunches serious numbers.

The 2's complement function does not work. It boots me off when I try and input anything in 2's complement mode

I needed to mask fields out of a hex number then get them in decimal. This app was as close to perfect as I could expect. There IS something amiss with 2's-comp -- sometimes it crashes, mostly it works fine.

I don't know what is nerdier: knowing how to use all the functions or wishing you knew. I'm in the second group, but can highly recommend this app. UPDATE: I am now deleting because the app update requires iOS 5.

Update: Great app and great dev who listens to users - 5 stars. Previous review: <sigh> Another app that needlessly *requires* iOS 5? There *are* people who, for various reasons (battery issues, bugs, incompatibility with older *important* apps), don't want to upgrade to 5.0 - maybe when 5.1 comes out if Apple decides to seriously put some effort into fixing the problems. Anyway, I have to give this one star for not being compatible with, at least, 4.3 when it and just about every app out there *should* be. I'll change my rating when this "bug" is fixed. Thanks.
