Best reddit client for iPad

Eric 1138

I use my iPad Pro in landscape mode most of the time and this reader does a perfect job. I tried bacon, reddit app, even safari, but this is the fastest and cleanest reader available. Very happy to spend the $4 and support the ad-free version! Keep it up!

Great, needs video playback speed

KingLucent

Narwhal is my daily Reddit driver and it does its job exceptionally well on iPad. 2 feature requests: 1. Video playback speed tools to play videos faster or slower 2. Move the subreddit/account navigation bar to the left of the subreddit feed so all navigation can be done from one side.

Best Reddit client on iOS.

Narwhal is by far the best on iOS. I love the gesture controls and the UI is amazing. Who knew that aesthetically pleasing and user friendly can coexist. But if I'm honest, the best thing about it is the cute narwhal character.

Prefer over the reddit app

Very functional app but I wish when I google reddit threads on my iPhone that the results load with Narwhal. Like every other website, ex: Instagram.com opening up in the Instagram app

Just keeps getting worse

RichardGazinya

As of this review a very limited, crippled app. Gives you only a portion of the Reddit experience. Don’t use it. Definitely don’t buy anything from them because it won’t be honored. Main problem: It refuses to honor my purchase to remove adds, no matter how many times I attempt to restore it. It worked for about six months and then it stopped. I paid for this and it just doesn’t work, at all. As of this review this app simply refuses to display any even moderately adult subreddit anymore. A year or so ago it stopped showing results for them in search. There is no way to turn this off. Great if you have very young children who exclusively use your Reddit app for some inexplicable reason. Annoying if you’re a big boy and you can’t even see half of what people are talking about in main sub Reddit posts. You simply don’t get many messages sent to you from mods, admins, and many private messages. You’ll have to log in through a web browser to see them, or know they were even sent to you. There are a myriad of problems like this, where things don’t load or just don’t display. This app isn’t maintained, and it’s a little baffling it still has a high rating. Scrolling through it makes more sense as all good reviews are from years ago when the function was better, and all newer reviews are very low. Don’t use even in comparison to logging into Reddit from safari. Not worth it. I will be getting a new one and deleting this headache as of today.

Keeps crashing

Clayton Kester

Constant crashes. Been this way for several years now.

My favorite reddit app

Back Sackandcrack

It’s easy to use, it has a great dark theme, the swiping means votes, saving , and all other things you can do with comments are easily available without taking up screen space. It has formatting buttons to apply effects for you, and the Lenny face library is most excellent as well. I’ve run into what seems like a bug where it is unable to mark replies as read however.

I love it! But one suggestion.

Cornelious the Waffle

This app is so well-made! I love browsing through reddit with one hand and happily paid extra to support the devs. My one suggestion is to add a spoiler button when commenting, being that there is one for almost every other comment type.

Great app, but location tracking??

Cdub6272

I’ve been using this app for years without any real complaints. It works great! But now I’m being asked for my location? What on earth could they possibly need that for?

Great App, but has recent freezing issues

Iannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

This app came through clutch once I had to let go of Alien Blue. It took some getting used to since I used Blue for sooo long, but once I got the hang of the format I quickly learned to love it. The ease of organizing your most frequented subreddits is probably my favorite feature. Also the search feature is great! Commenting is easy along with upvoting and downvoting. Recently I’ve run into issues with a freezing bug. It has only gotten worse every day for the last week. The app will just randomly freeze when scrolling forcing me to close the app and wait a second before opening it up again. I’m sure this bug will be fixed, but it’s gotten to the point where the app is almost unusable. Please fix it so I can go back to loving this app!
