Looks very interesting, but...

MrMartinike

Sadly can’t login with my Google account :(

Auto-opening ads, I’m out.

NamisloC

Swapped from alien blue a few years back because it had features that the original reddit didn’t have. Over the last two weeks I’ve noticed that ads will be clicked while I’m not even coming into contact with the screen. Even more frustrating, once an ad decides to open, you have to sit and wait for the link to completely. If you close it early to return to Reddit, narwhal will just re-open. I wanted to believe it’s just a coding bug that devs were going to fix, but at this point the devs are probably just pushing for more ad clicks to milk this project dry.

Great app, bad battery life

Mddx01

This is good for a free reddit app, but the battery drain is ridiculous. It runs in the background for hours (even when I close it), and eats up my battery to the tune of 20-30% overnight.

Don’t know what happened but it’s bad

Christinme

It’s sucking up my batter like crazy. I have 2 hours screen time and 14 hours background and I have turned off background stuff. That’s not good.

Permission Denied when trying to comment

Love the app. Just wish I could get help on how to comment and why it denies me permission.

Would be 5 stars if…

Would be 5 stars if this app didn’t have what is quite possibly the worst video player UI in any app ever created for the iPhone.

“Restore Purchase” does not work, still shows ads!

therealcrawsome

I paid for this app once upon a forever ago. I used the “restore purchase” feature, it says “ your purchase was successfully restored”, but still showing the annoying ads on the bottom. Please fix this!

Beautiful interface, not enough functionality yet

bluetoucan

So much impresses me about this app but sadly it’s not usable for me yet due to some missing basic functions. You can’t even block another user (which sadly for a girl on Reddit is a basic necessity).

2 big issues

Ceaser64

I’ve used this app for 3-4 years now. It’s the only way I’ve ever used reddit but in that entire time there’s been 2 issues with this app that have never been fixed. 1: Most subs require you flair your post. You can’t in this app, so I can’t post to most subs without logging in on safari. Apparently lots of other apps have figured this out, why not narwhal? 2: apparently when you turn your phone from vertical to horizontal/“landscape” the app reloads whatever your looking at. When what I’m looking at is a long Gif, or a link to a video on YouTube or something like that, and I naturally turn my phone sideways without thinking, Narwhal reloads the post, which reloads and restarts the video. Kind of a pain to have to switch to the YouTube app just to watch the video then switch back to read the comments. And more of a pain if it’s not on YouTube. Most the time I just click back and scroll to a different post rather than have to find where I was in the video again in a totally different app.

Best Reddit app period

Zack Wall

This would be a 5 star review if their search function wasn’t absolutely horrid. You can’t look up an individual subreddit without having to dig through a bunch of other subs that aren’t relevant to your search. Give us the ability to look up a specific sub we want to join and this is an easy 5 star review. Besides that, it’s got the best upvote/downvote swipes and being able to click on a post and read the comments while checking out the post is amazing. Please just improve the search function.
