Wow just sitting here cussing at this app and the setup. Must have had no thought put into how to make something work or easy
I just bought the MyQ for my existing chamberlain opener. It is working fine and was easy to install, though I had to pull up their support video to find the learn button. One of the things it does not allow you do is control the light separately from the opener. The description seemed to indicate that you can but is actually referring to a different product completely separate from the opener. Please add this functionality to your next release! Also this product does not integrate with smart things by Samsung which would be a significant improvement.
Anytime I open the Home app, the bridge says “not responding”... also, how do I do firmware updates to the bridge?
It’s either the app or the device itself, but awful awful awful. I had better luck when I was a kid by raising and lowering the garage door by hand. When I need to go somewhere, I need to go somewhere. I don’t have time (or patience) to sit in the driveway and fiddle with the stupid app only to have to go back inside, disarm the alarm, set the alarm, go out, lock the door, start the car again. If I were Chamberlain, I’d be thoroughly embarrassed to claim they made this piece of trash. They should stick to what they do best: garage door openers. And, no, it’s not my WiFi. I have perfectly good WiFi and a solid repeater system. I’m about ready to rip that thing off my garage ceiling and chunk it in the garbage.
The app is ok, the screens look like something developed 10 or so years ago and lack polish. My biggest complaint is there is no landscape option. This is usually a deal breaker for me, unfortunately there are no other options. App needs significant work to bring it up to the standards of today’s apps.
...controls my garage door & lights switches remotely. Give us a ‘working’ option as far as changing the original login email & put a little more work into this very basic UI & it'll get 5 stars from me!
The use interface hangs and the application often needs a forced quit to update the status of the device. When changing from WiFi to LTE forget it. You will have to wait and wait often more than 10 minutes or finally reset the app. It used to be much better... I wish the would fix it.
This app needs a widget! How convenient would it be to simply open or close your garage door from the notification tray instead of having to go into the app every time for a single function? Otherwise I’m very pleased. Spent 4 hours today stumbling through my install and only about 5 minutes connecting the new garage door opener to my WiFi network and setting up the app. Everything works great, the option to program alerts is a nice touch that hasn’t gone amiss. Beyond being able to open or close your garage door with your phone from anywhere the biggest feature of this product is simply confirming you remembered to close your garage door when you weren’t paying attention as you were leaving.
The new update has a bug. Won’t connect to garage door. Did ya not think to check that? ?
