I have never rated an app one star, but here we are. This app used to be incredibly reliable and useful, but I have not been able to use it for the past two months. The NY MTA had suspended my account (for some reason I still don’t understand) and has not responded to any of my emails or calls about the issue. I have reached out no less than three times to them, all of which have fallen on deaf ears. And the worst part of it all is that I still have tickets on the app (THAT I PAID FOR) that I cannot access. Do better NYMTA.


Touch ID not working after last update

Old Fart Set In His Ways

The app does a respectable job but I almost lost my mind searching for my saved password in iOS. A half hour later, after combing through my list several times for “MTA eTix”; I found something named “just ride.com”. It worked. Has anyone ever put themselves in the shoes of the actual user of an app, I mean, an actual non-technical, hapless, average user? Have they studied branding, where consistency is all important? Do they know the confusion of THREE apps that do the same thing but not quite- MyMTA, MTA eTix, MNR TrainTime, because one requires the other one for scheduling, another for fares and the actual purchase and ticket wallet, and the confusion this creates? I have no words for this. Actually, I do but can’t use them here.


App Restarts When a Ticket is Active

When this app first came out you could activate your ticket and then go do something else on your phone — as most commuters do. But when the conductor comes around and you double click to return to the app, it restarts! And the restart time is so painfully slow that the app now actually slows the conductor down instead of expediting. Why can’t you just leave the active ticket up? Why do you have to time out the app after a couple of minutes? Makes no sense. None. Fix this and I’ll improve my rating.


Why should I have to remember my password

I only ride the train every couple months and every time I open this app it tells me my session is expired and I need to log back in. I don’t want to remember some obscure password for this app I don’t use often. I dread every time I have to use this app and would uninstall it so fast if it wasn’t holding me hostage. ?

The app was glitching and double charged me for a ticket that I can only use for one day (city ticket). They would not refund the ticket even though I tried to cancel as soon as I realized their mistake.


App Glitches and over purchases

The app is very glitchy, and also overcharged me on multiple occasions. When I try to buy 2 round trip tickets, the app will purchase 4 instead. When I try to refund them through the app, it only offers a partial refund. They even somehow got my name and billing info mixed up. Very poor app.

Service was absolutely horrible, lost my ticket and when I wanted to show the payment transaction on my phone the ticket person refused to wait until I got signal on my phone and made me pay an extra $16 to get a one way ticket ! These people have no respect for passengers
