The first one was absolutely incredible. They are both absolutely beautiful and phantasmagorical. This one is so sweet, the lil one bounces around and they both hug whenever they are separated and meet again!

Beautiful

Honesty the most amazing, beautiful, challenging without being frustrating, inventive, intriguing, relaxing puzzle type game I have yet to encounter.. BRAVO!! ... and I hope for Monument Valley 3 some day.

Falls dissapointingly short

The first game was much better. The puzzles had more variety and were more challenging. This game lacks the variety and dimension bending mechanics of the first. The puzzles in Monument Valley 2 were basically variations on a theme: slide the section, turn the other section. Generally speaking, it lacked most of the M.C. Escher mechanics that made the first so fun. As a result, it was much easier and felt much shorter than the first. There was a lot of potential, which was missed. Having two characters gave as much potential for cooperative play, as the two player mode in Portal 2, with ATLAS and P-body, but they missed it, and only employed it for a few puzzles. It also had the potential for branching storylines, but that too was weakly implemented. The only thing keeping it going was the story, although that is a bit confusing. Was this a sequel, a prequel, or a new story? ...the child’s name is never mentioned, so although she resembles Ida, we don’t know if it is, or if this is an entirely different character’s adventure.

So a couple years ago the first game was on an app (no longer available) called “Apps gone free”. I thought that it was phenomenal and wished I had actually bought it. I have restarted and finished over and over. I saw this game was released and bought it immediately! I love this game and tell everyone about it. This deserves all the awards and I want more!

Loved it! ??

Please please PLEASE make a third!!!! I love this game so much, of course the first in a series is always the best; but I think the second one is just as good! The graphics are stunning, and you want to explore their world. So a third Monument Valley would be amazing!!! I really like the other concepts you had for the second one, but I’m happy that you narrowed it down to a mother and a child. I highly recommend this game, even though it costs money. It is worth every penny! Thank you so much for making such a thrilling experience. And please consider making a third! P.S. I really love those pillar creatures, they are so cute but brave at the same time! They are just so loyal and willing to follow their friends, even to the end.

Make more games!

Best game! Relaxing and can be replayed without becoming mundane. The sound is a mix of relaxing and energizing, something you do not find in many games.

Short

I kept waiting to reach the end of the tutorial. Then, the game was just over. Very very simple puzzles. I don’t remember the first one being so easy and short. Pretty disappointing.

It is WAY TOO EASY

the first monument valley took meet weeks to finish it was so challenging that I’ve replayed it at least 3x and enjoyed it each time. Monument Valley II was equally visually stunning and had a great storyline just like the first the only difference is I beat the entire game in 3 hours. Don’t waste your money, replay the original.

Boring and annoying

I LOVED the first monument. It was challenging and each level was different. Monument valley 2 was EVERYTHING BUT! All the levels were very similar and once you figured out the strategic theme of the level it’s a breeze through. Plus the “lessons” are annoying and you can’t skip it. I feel like the developers of this game were rushing to get out a second version and didn’t take the time to make it challenging. Definitely not work the $5.
