With MINI Connected XL Journey Mate, the driver always has a valuable fellow traveller, even before the journey begins. When choosing the destination on a smartphone, the Journey Mate already provides information on the current traffic situation on the route. In addition, events like phone calls and other route information can be planned in advance of the journey. The data is transferred as soon as the smartphone is connected with the car. The MINI Connected XL Journey Mate provides parking recommendations, timely pointers to filling station locations, takes the travel time into account and knows the weather forecast for the destination. Its Traffic Radar provides an up-to-the-minute overview of the current traffic situation. All information and recommendations - up-to-date, context-related and intelligently filtered - are displayed together with the normal navigation data in split-screen mode on the 8.8"" vehicle display screen. At the end of the journey, the Last Mile Navigation of the Journey Mate leads the driver to the precise destination, if necessary, even on foot. And the Car Finder feature guarantees that, wherever it is parked, the car can always be found again.
To use the MINI Connected XL Journey Mate in your MINI, all you have to do is connect your smartphone to your car with the snap-in adapter in the centre console or plug it into the USB port and follow the instructions given by the connection assistant.

The app display language is set by the language chosen for the car.
Several functions are only available when the consumer device is connected to a MINI with the option “MINI Connected XL”. The range of features and functions may differ from version to version and country to country. As selected functions are dependent on third party providers, it is possible that they may not be available at all times and in the same form. A broadband connection is required. Any extra costs resulting from this (e.g. roaming) are a part of the customer's contract with the network provider. Please also take care to observe country-specific preconditions and requirements. Limited functionality may be experienced as a result of insufficient bandwidth or volume-based bandwidth limitation (bandwidth capping) on the part of the network provider.
As a result of this, MINI can’t provide a guarantee for the unlimited compatibility and functionality of your mobile device when connected with the vehicle interface.

At the time of my writing this I don’t have any issues with crashes or the app being slow. So I can comfortably say that the app works and is stable. There are some decent features in the all. I like being able to send addresses from my phone to the car, which is easier than using the interface in the vehicle. Checking your range from the phone is also kind of neat. Other than that though, there’s not a lot going on in here that you will likely use often. One thing I find annoying is that the app can be slow to link up with the car and if you turn the car on and start looking for an address in your phone you will be pulled out of that workflow with a loading screen telling you it is connecting and then you have to tap “skip”. This drops you back on the home screen and you have to start all over again.

Even though I have a classic connected account, it forces you to sign up a new account, but refuses to let you even submit the sign up form due to a bug where an invalid input error is permanently displayed on the page.
Move on. Nothing to see here.

This app was an excellent companion to the MiniCooper's Infotainment system. For managing & creating trips it is simply a tool that you grow accustomed to rapidly. But unfortunately the lack of attention to detail and customer appreciation from MiniCooper/BMW is shocking. The reason the Apple puts out the "Beta" version is for companies to "crush the bugs", something that MiniCooper/BMW apparently doesn't care about. The app crashes when inputting an address to use later for a trip. It's the essence of the primary existence of this app! It's like having a car that doesn't have wheels! Please fix this app for the sack of customers!!!

I just bought my Mini Cooper and this app works great in my system. I love how I can connect to Spotify and Pandora. It was confusing at first but once I figured it out it works great. It programs my mileage and my normal routine back and forth to work/home. How it got a 1 star is beyond me! I enjoy it! Thanks

Very frustrated that I can't take advantage of all the features of my new mini Cooper with Connected XL because this app is so buggy. Mini needs to either fix the bugs, or refund customers the $1000.00 up charge for Connected XL. I will never by another mini.

Works great on my phone! I love that I am able to send destinations to my car through this app even from other apps. Makes navigating very simple also I appreciate that there isn't an extra step of logging in like in the mini connected app just to use some basic functionality Al the previous reviews are incorrect about it crashing at this point. IOS has fixed the issue that was causing it to crash and now it works extremely well! I love the app
