I would give this 4 stars if it wasn’t for my most recent experience: This app hasn’t worked in about 5 weeks. It is stuck on a bike ride workout (which I never even started) that won’t even log distance on my runs. I tried closing out/restarting the app, updating, turning off my iPhone… 3+ years of running data and I now can’t even access that or log well over a month of runs. The only thing left to do is delete and find a better run app…

Awful

Seems impossible to get the 1 thing I actually want: route suggestions. Tons of premium features. Icon based navigation unintelligible.

“Save” Bug

veteranrunner

When I open the free version of the app, I’m usually hit with an ad trying to get me to upgrade to the paid version. But when I try to save my workout (standing right next to my wifi), I get a “failed to save” message 4 out of 5 times. Why pay for an upgrade when the free version doesn’t work?

No gear tracker anymore

no way thats stupid

I had to switch to Adidas and I had always hoped to switch back, but it appears I will just be using it for good now. Very disappointed.

Great app. I use it every day.

Easy to use and accurate, which of course, is also a function of the phone’s GPS capabilities. Older versions showed mile points, which I liked.

Not as good as Endomondo

I M CRAZY

Endomondo was much better.

Would not even open

Tried to download this app. Kept giving the error message that I needed to check my connection. I have full connection to high speed internet wifi. Tried again. Nothing. Tried downloading off wifi with four bars of service. Nothing. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Nothing. Tried turning my phone on and off ( iPhone 12 mini ) Nothing. Seems pretty buggy if a person can’t even sign up or open the app.

kills apple watch battery

I really like the look of this app and it does seem to be accurate, at least for me. I’m not using more advanced features, honestly it’s primarily just to track distance/splits/pace for all my runs in one place. And it does that well. The problem is that it totally destroys my Apple Watch SE 2020 battery. Once I launch a run from my watch, then complete it (and these are 2-4 mile runs), it will deplete my battery to next to nothing. It used to last at least 24 hrs. One 30 minute run, and it is dead. In comparison, if I track a run just in the Apple Fitness app, my watch depletes by about 8% in that time, which makes sense given the heart rate monitoring. But dropping by over 80% in 30 minutes with MapMyRun makes me hesitant to use it. Wish there was a workaround for this! Or better, a fix.

Inferior app

I absolutely hate this app!! I did not connect it to my Apple Watch but it takes over my watch screen. It doesn’t matter which I start first or last. It shows about half or less the miles on my treadmill and Apple Watch.

Helpful to track miles, split time & other stuff

I started using this App almost in 2020 & it’s been fantastic. I enjoy the way the coaching gives you mile updates with split times, total distance, average speed, current mile speed, steps per minute and the time of the day. There are different Challenges you can join as well to help you stay focused on any Fitness Goals you might have set for your personal health as well. The yearly Challenge is AMAZING TOO! I enjoy that as it tracks my mileage for the year as I train for different races. Fun stuff. The biggest plus is the COST! This App for the year is very INEXPENSIVE! Love that as well!
