Zero Help
Greatly Dissappointed 124

The support for this app is horrible. Made an in-app purchase through I-Tunes that failed to download. Went through their process in the App to try a restore the purchase and it gave me an error. Tried emailing Mantis using the help email address provided on their website and it came back as undeliverable. Then tried messaging them through their Facebook page and have gotten no reply. Why are they still allowed to sell anything???

Started off well
modres

I like this program. It used to work very well. However it hasn’t seemed to keep up with the iOS updates from Apple. Program locks up which forces me to delete then reinstall everything. There are a few other bugs as well that I’ve reported to company. Mantis also used to be an option in the Reading Plan that I use so you’d open that plan for the day, it would list what you’re supposed to read in the Bible that day, click on the book and chapter and it would automatically open Mantis to that book and chapter. Now Mantis is not even listed in that same reading plan. The amount of resources available are great. Most of them have to be purchased of course. Overall it’s a great program that simply needs to be seriously updated.

PLEASE please! let us see bookmarks/markers previews
PacAnd

October 14, 2019 Down to last drops of patience before just dropping this app that used to be wonderful. It has been more than a year now and I still cannot see bookmarks/markers previews!!! What’s the point of creating a marker or importing old bookmarks if I cannot longer see what each passage says without clicking on each?! I need to be able to see at a glance which is the verse I am looking for! This used to be so wonderful. Such a great way to collect and organize bookmarks...now is all almost a mess. Thank you ********************************** So, it has been a while now since Mantis X was released. I was(am?) very happy with the new features etc. but sad that the KEY features it did great are now gone or confusing. It appears version X is a couple of steps from becoming great again, but now so many days have passed and I don’t see changes, therefore kind of loosing hope here. One big one is: BOOKMARKS It was awesome and simple. I could add/have my favorite bookmarks in folders/topics that I created and with a glance I could see which verse was the one I wanted without having to click on it. Now that ability is gone...so I have to click on each verse one by one to find the verse that came to mind in an impromptu conversation, group bible study, or at church. Just allow bookmarks preview(!!!) inside each folder and call it a day! Let us choose how many preview lines we want to see? Apparently it is impossible or very hard to do given all these months without the fix. Three stars because I stopped adding bookmarks (or markers) long time ago...and if I only use this app to read the Bible then there are other apps that can do that somewhat better. I still love the app, but I miss how simple it was. My previous review (a year ago) is below. ************** Not exaggerating here. I've done A LOT of research and tried almost all there is out there. Even when this app hasn't been updated in a while (apparently), and shows now some signs of bugs the more iOS sends updates, it is STILL the best app out there. Bookmarks and folders (for preparing and studying) is one of its best features. When I emailed for help I received responses within an hour. The reason I am giving 5 stars and not 4 is because I just read some 1 to 3 stars reviews that are simply not truth, and so I am in a way trying to balance it to an honest rating. I can still recommend this app as the best out there. I wish the app developer had a boost of time, or resources to give it another push.

They ruined a great app
Brent4au

This used to be the best Bible app there was. Then they created X and ruined it. I can’t even add a note. They never make updates. I have spent over $100 I guess on commentaries and now I am having to switch to another app.

Okay as a bible, not reliable for bible study notes
Ski skier

This application will drop notes, and frustrate anyone trying to replace their paper bible with this application. The search capability is okay and some reference capabilities but how it “loses” the notes has led me to delete the app.

I’m upset

I didn’t expect to go from mantis free bible from 10 years ago to 150 dollars in charges without my conscent... all I wanted was upgrade and it charged me a slice of charges

Thank you so much for all the time you have invested in this work, I have had your Mantis Bible from the start and the time invested in learning the new software is time well spent. I pray for you, that God will give you a special blessing for spending so much of your time in making God’s Word more accessible to millions. Have a blest day in the Lord.

I used to love this app.

I used to love this app. I use my iPad as my Bible. I got tired of my Bible wearing out and losing all my notes, etc. So I started using Mantis. Very simple yet powerful, and completely offline, no need for internet. Things I love(d): - Inline items such as notes and Strong's. - Inline drill downs for note hyperlinks and Strong's - Strong's is only underlined, making reading easy still - Automatic hyperlinks in notes to a verse when you type it out. - Bookmarks organized by folders makes studying topics a breeze. No other Bible app provides the simplicity and effectiveness of Mantis as a study tool. No, it doesn't have audio. But that's fine w me. But with the new update, things just don't work, at all. I can't save a bookmark. The search area doesn't scroll sometimes so I can't open all the results. Opening and editing notes Inline doesn't always work. I'm literally praying they fix this app. It can be the best. Before the recent overhaul, I hadn't updated Mantis in YEARS, because there was no update lol. And I still preferred it over all other newer style apps. And I've tried them all.

This app has been destroyed

This app used to be the best one I’ve found and I used it for years. Now, nothing works any more. A shame to have lost a wonderful tool.

No longer supported?
DocRon

I would be careful about buying this app. I have had it for years and have purchased many Bibles and commentaries on it. It has always been buggy but recently started entering notes in it only to find that sometimes they were saved and sometimes not. Also I note that there have been no updates in over 8 months and the last entry on Facebook is 2012!. Likewise, their videos on YouTube are all sadly outdated. I suspect it is no longer being kept up to date. That is sad.
