I really enjoy the app. It’s easy to use not visually cluttered and free. My only issue is there is no aperture setting at 1.8 that I found. Beside that I am very pleased.
This guy does not know the correct exposure has nothing to do with sensor size nor focal length. If you really want to help this app to get the review it deserves, jus long press that review and pick not helpful as feedback.
This doesn’t seem to be working in iOS 13, but that may be because the last update was 3 years ago.
Incredibly easy to use and always accurate. I’ve used this app extensively with my Hasselblad 500 C/M and it has never failed to give me perfect exposures. I’ve compared it to handheld light meters to ensure that my exposure is set correctly and it is always the same. If you’re used to older Sekonic light meters, there are other apps that mimic that interface well but are more frustrating to use. You just point your phone camera at your scene or subject, adjust your aperture, and the app will give you the correct shutter speed to use. Try it out.
I live it and does what it says. Pretty much dead on results no matter what. No need for a silly $300 plug for your iPhone which is useless in a sense that it does the same. Anyways I love this and like using it for high key setups. The ONLY thing I wish it did is lock the recommended settings down. Say if I pop the test light in my speed light. It should read what it picked up and LOCK so I can see where my settings are to be when the speed light is hit. That’s literally it but fantastic.
Amazing! Straight to the point so a quick light meter!!! Keeps everything simple. All you really need for a quick simple exposure. I use it to double check on sunny 16. For work i use my good ol minolta. Its not a lightneter replacement but does an excellent job at what it is designed to do!!
If you shoot film, you must have a digital spot meter. There's really no other good option. This app is right in line with my Sekonic $600 meter and my Pentax digital spot meter. You can easily switch it from a small spot to a larger averaged amount: it will do aperture priority, shutter priority, or film speed priority. It's truly remarkable. It's important to understand that this is a complicated instrument. It's designed to be used by photographers who know How to use a meter and how to expose film. I have it it's a great feel safe back up in case a meter fails In the field that I would not hesitate to use it. Most people can't afford a dedicated spot meter: this is a great alternative.
Actually, I was looking for an physical light meter. Funny feeling, using iPhone for Konica Autoreflex T, made in seventies. Great job!
There is no f/3.5, just f/3.2 and f/3.6. Why? The buttons to change between ISO, shutter, and aperture are difficult to operate, as it is the same motion to change the ISO, shutter, and aperture as it is to actually change the values. They are small tabs. It is slow to change the values as well. The one solid thing, though, is that there are no ads.
I installed it on my iPhone XS. The ISO is always fixed at 100 even I pointed in a dark place.
