Supernatural Bluebeard?

Three and a half stars rounded down to three. Not a bad game, but just not one of the greats. I love most of Alawar's games but this one was just so-so. You rush off to a castle to spend time with the hot guy you met on the Internet, only to realize that something is seriously creepy about the whole setup. The good: crisp graphics, a little cartoony. Fairly linear game play, although there is a transporting map that shows active areas. Puzzles weren't too hard although I did skip a few because I got bored. Didn't need to squint to find the hidden objects. The bad: boring, non interactive HOs. Guess I've gotten spoiled with some of the newer games. Only two modes of play. Game is fairly short. Near the end you are whizzing through rescuing the damsels in distress! But still worth the $1.99 price! No strategy guide but not really needed. The ugly: not much to say here. Would have been nice to have some collectibles but this isn't a CE, only an SE so didn't really expect it. I did get booted out once near the end but starting the game again was no problem with no loss in progress.

To recharge the Hint button, you have to watch commercials. Hopefully, this will not be a new trend! Hate watching ads to recharge the slowly recharging Hint button!

Love alchemy - lovely little game!

For those that don't like commercials pay the $1.99. Meanwhile- gorgeous artwork, transporting indicated map (open diary, tap on compass top middle of page). Good HO, themed mini games in keeping with the area, just a lovely little game! Do be careful with your choices at the end of the game - how you choose decides how the game ends!

Pretty Good Game

Worth the price - Really would have been nice to have character voices, however decent storyline and nice map. Nice graphics and some special effects. Enjoyed playing, kept you guessing what was up with Charles? Try it and find out! Thank you, KdBoots

Gorgeous game and interesting story! There is a journal, a marked teleport map and labeled inventory. Loading very quickly between locations. No collectibles! But no plus items, and all the HO scenes are simple word lists. It is enchanting to enter magical paintings which are portals to different eras and save women from a demon, but this game was extremely short. At least it only cost $1.99! The puzzles were fun but there could have been more of them! There was also no bonus chapter. One must deal with spiders, snakes, poisonous plants and other scary things but at least there were no RATS! So if you want a quick and magical game, it was fun to play!

Disturbing trend
sara_robin

I have become aware of a disturbing trend in storylines for many of these point and click adventure stories, and it's upsetting it's not obvious to so many players. This one takes the cake. In a nutshell..the guy is evil and revengeful, but the woman who loves him claims he is 'just a tortured soul with a good heart', being possessed by a dark force, and that he only acted out of his 'intense love for her.' Okay, fine. Where it gets disturbing is that he became a mass murderer BEFORE the demon spirit took over, and to top it off, he only became possessed by evil AFTER he readily agreed to sacrifice eight more women for the demon, who promised to return his slain lover. And it doesn't stop there. The slain lover ghost defends all these decisions as romantic, even after murdering a dozen people...and the main character who also loves this man ends up spending all of her time trying to reunite these two so they can be together again. Please see through all the cartoonish romantically fluff to see how sick and twisted games like this can be, this one in particular...DISGUSTING!!!
