Can’t continue.

Due to the last update my characters lost all their unlocked cards except potion and anti venom. Since I can’t delete characters this will be goodbye for a while.

Don’t mind the grinding, slowly getting better. But just logged in and my character has lost all of his skills. So, not I can fight with healing and antidote potions, nothing else. Time to delete. Not worth a second playthrough

Broken
Jpkalltheway

The game crashes when I try to enter the first part of the game. Just like another reviewer said. Restarted and even started a new game no luck. Kind of disappointed this requires a login as well.

Fun Game!

Got this game and I’ve been playing it during my commute. Fun game, easy to learn and has good content.

Not a good start

For some unknown reason you need to create a login to play this. I can't figure out why because after loading the start up it crashes every time. I've tried reloading the game and restarting the iPad. --update: I believe that the login is to allow sharing over multiple devices. Not my preference and I hate "the cloud" et. al. but at least there's a good reason for this.-- I then clicked on the developer support link to let them know and got sent to a generic gmail sign up page. So at this point it looks like wasted money. Hopefully someone will respond to this review since I see no other way to communicate. -------- Good news - the app was updated and I now can get through the initial info and talk to the inn keeper. Bad news - the app crashes as I try to leave for the first adventure. So at least there appears to be some support. Hopefully with a few more updates there will be an app I can play. So I've improved my rating based on hopeful anticipation. -------- Each update takes me closer to maybe playing. I can now leave the in but it crashes when I try to enter the cave. Restarting allows me to look around the inn but I can no longer travel to the Spiders Cave - clicking on the ferryman doesn't do anything. -------- I've raised my rating again because I can now kind of play (I still have some crashing issues) but more for the support Eggon is putting into trying to resolve the issues. They really want it to work! The game itself appears to need a lot of running back and forth between the dungeons and the inn to get you buffed enough to get to the boss. You start over at the first "room" every time you re-enter a dungeon. That might make for some frustrating repetition but the buffing process could be fun.

Fun but flawed

Summary: It’s a fun game with a great concept, but I do feel like I’m fighting against the mechanics at times and I’m not sure how much longevity I’ll get out of the game without further updates. This is a dungeon card battler with an interesting twist in that you can exit a dungeon with your given loot or risk moving forward and losing it all. In between rounds, you can buy new cards at the shop, sell your unneeded loot and retool your deck. If you’re in it for the cards, there’s not much to offer. It’s a very basic set of cards that do things like add defense, attack power, energy, etc. But I think the way in which things all come together make the simplicity fun. Now on to the drawbacks: Some of the mechanics are just strange. You start with HP potions and antidotes against poison in your deck. But for some reason, each use costs 5 gold. While gold isn’t super difficult to come by, 5 gold is a pretty huge hit especially in the beginning of the game. I think it would make significantly more sense to remove the gold cost for these items. In addition, the game doesn’t seem very balanced. The starting warrior class deck has several cards that do a significant chunk of damage to your character in order to do damage to the enemy. It’s kind of frustrating and I think the game would be more well suited to at least have some basic “attack” cards with no special conditions in addition to these specialized cards. These two things do have a risk/reward mechanic, but since the main game is already predicated on this it makes it even more difficult to succeed. I’m not the kind of gamer who minds failure, especially in a game of this type. But I think the mechanics here just don’t make sense. In addition, the amount of content doesn’t seem to be huge at first glance. I’ve played for around 30-45 mins and my save slot states that I’ve finished 10% of the game. This is not a huge deal as the app description seems to mention further updates with more classes and dungeons. I’d love to see more loot to collect as well. All in all, I think it’s worth a pickup at this price if you believe in the game’s potential. I plan on continuing to mess around with the game but there’s a lot of needlessly frustrating elements.

Crashes

I would love to play this game, it looks very interesting, but it crashes whenever I try to enter the Spider Caves.

Cards + Roguelike Dungeon = awesome
Nitecatchr

If you like rogue-like dungeon games, this is a definite add to your collection. Well done. Would love to play this in portrait on iPhone, just to say ?

Just. Dull. And stupid.
Koala404

It’s just dull as pants. Played like fifty missions. Keep getting the same crappy loot, which means I am not getting any stronger. Starting shop items were all off-class. It’s just dull, tedious, and boring as hell. If they took out the animations and let it play quicker, then maybe they would have something. But at the moment an enforced slow grind with no end in sight is like a visit to a bad dentist Wait for them to get the balance a whole lot better, and make it run smoother and faster. The design is fatally flawed. Three cards, but you can keep a last monster alive until you get your hand right, this isn’t a strategy, it is plain and simple a necessity. Which drags every fight out WAY longer than it should. Either reset your hand for each fight, or recognize I have a lock and let me choose my cards. Or heck, why not let me replace one card with a card of my choice? There is nothing here but forced options wasting my time. Avoid this game.
