Ladybug Addition

Use your fingers to add up the ladybug spots!
Category Price Seller Device
Education $0.99 Joe Scrivens iPad

3 ladybugs walk onto the leaf, add up the spots on the first 2 and touch on the screen with your fingers to add the spots to the third ladybug.

This is a very fun and interactive way of doing simple math problems using 2 numbers up to 10.

Doesn't work
Brainymum

We tapped to put spots on the ladybug but it doesn't work. The spot won't stay. Looks like a fun way for my son to do math but the problem persists in both this and the subtraction app.

Fun

This app is fun. I just downloaded it, and am testing it before my son gets home. The music is cool and the ladybugs are cute. I wish there was a menu so that you can make sure you are utilizing the app the right way.

Didn't work

It did not work for me either.

Very cool

Worked perfectly for me, there is no instructions on the app though which the developer needs to add, although it doesn't take long to figure it out. for those that don't have it working, you have to hold your fingers on the screen to register the answer. At first I had the multi-touch gestures turned on my iPad and it didn't work, turned them off and it worked a treat.

I had no issues with the app, the posts below look like user error to me, just hold your fingers on the screen. Not a fan of the music though but I just turned it off by pressing the music icon.

Great application

First as all of you i didnt understand how it works, but suddenly by mistake put several fingers and it take it as an answer. For example, if unswer is 3 hold all 3 fingers on screen, that is all. Great

I can't wait to show my grandson. He is just starting to use numbers and I think this help him better understand adding.

Thanks, reviewer #6

Until I read the comments of reviewer #6, I just couldn't make this app work. It would be good if the developer could show a hand coming down and touching the screen with the appropriate number of fingers to match the total number of dots. Also, it would be nice if there was an obvious start to the game. Great little app, though, for helping children to get faster at visually recognizing combinations of numbers, as well as giving children practice in creating different combinations of fingers to get the same number.

Good practice

This looks like a fun way for my students to practice their math skills. It also looks like it would be helpful for kids who need to work on fine motor control, and also for a way for nonverbal students who can't write yet to show and practice what they know.
