Top speed way off

I have a track that says my top speed is 11.4 mph, and took a screen shot that showed me at 14 mph. No trees or tall buildings in the way..Really disappointing that for the past few years it has lied to me about top speeds.

You can’t post your results to Facebook. I want my money back

If you already listen to the music of your iPhone while skating, you should get this!

The app works as advertised with high accuracy (compared to my home skate track) and very stable for me! I use it with the Belkin Armband from the Apple online store and can even listen to my iPod music while I use the app. The best thing that I did not even dream about: Whatching my rides in Google Earth is so much fun... :-) Now I can show cool tracks to people that have not been there. This gets my full recommendation!

Love it!

Tried it for a while now - skating the boardwalk is fun! Is much better than computer I had for my skates. That involved changing the wheels, heaps of cabling, etc. With iSkate I have speed plus map track without these hassles, just attached to my arm :) Works pretty good. Asked support about some feature (lock screen, so not touch sens) and they replied they'll take care about it soon. (otherwise u have to be careful not to touch anything while recording..). Two thumbs up here.

I'm skating since 13 years but now it's so much more fun!

If you like skating around central park in NYC or anywhere else in the world you will like this app as much as I do. I carry it in an armband so I can always see my current speed at a glance. It also shows live values for distance, altitude and even calories! Plus you can email your trail to proof your workout which is really amazing. If you did not get it yet from review: I truly love this app and I can't wait for updates. What about showing nearby skaters in the map???

UPDATE - New opinions now that I have used it more.

Ok I have used this app for a while and this new version is improved. my only complaint is the mapping is poor and hard to use when you want to find a route back home compared to the Iphone map software the phone uses. It takes way to for the map features like enlarge or pan etc.... All other features work very well with the new version. For $10 I wished the map was better. Perhaps the next version will improve the map. P.S. I contacted the support and it took a couple days but I got a good reply that explained what I asked about. That is always a good sign from a developer. With the new version I can recommend it now!

I am loving this app! Few suggestions ...

Thank you for creating this app just for skating! I have a few requests/suggestions: Want ability to post results to FB. Like that I can name tracks. Distance reading seems to be more accurate than SportyPal's skate mode. GPS loads faster than SportyPal app. Good job! Don't like how you have to hit "sure?" twice to end a session. Seems awkward ... little confusing. While I do like the ability to pause a session, when I pause a session, sometimes it asks me if I want to "resume", sometimes it does not. Consistency issue? Not sure what is happening there.

iskate 3.0 Really cool, better if tweaked!

What a cool app! If you are either a pro or are just a beginner I strongly recommend this app. Many of the features are relevant to all skaters, such as climbed altitude (which is approximate at best), current speed, average speed, maximum speed, stop watch, and trip distance. I am suspicious about the accuracy of "calories burned", but it is still a useful training tool especially for fitness skaters trying to drop a few pounds. I purchased this app in November 2010 and I have logged over 1500 miles using this app several times a week without any problems or glitches. One feature that I turned off the second time I used the app was the auto-pause. I found that pausing the device manually gave me more accurate times especially since many of my runs are on the same circuit and I am racing the clock down to tenths of a second. My biggest complaint is where the "start/pause" button is located on the screen. I have found that when my iphone is in my armband (which I strongly suggest you buy) that this button is difficult to activate. I would like to see this button near the top center of the screen and move the timer to the side so that you are not tapping the screen through the armband's covering furiosly at busy intersections trying to get the timer to pause. I have found that the "all values" screen is the most useful for my daily circuits and that the map features are useful skating in new places. I love the new version's ability to share your runs and I'm glad to see that they are trying to update the app since it is rather expensive (as far as apps go). I love the ease of logging my runs, however I would like to see a "notes" option so that information such as combinations of wheel durometer, bearing combos, weather conditions, road conditions, etc, can all be easily logged with your run data for easy reference. My only other complaint is the graphic of the opening screen shows a pair of skates from like 1989. Couldn't you guys find a cooler, more current picture? Over all the app is worth the money ( I love that the cursor is a skater). If the changes I have suggested were implemented I would give the app 5 stars!

As close to perfect as you can hope for.

I have purchased over 50 apps, and this is the only review I've bothered to write. It's just that good. I love being able to share my tracks with team mates, and compare top speeds. I can send workouts to my email, and the 1-2-sports website, which I also love using. It's like they had me in mind when they wrote this app.
