i just got the new iphone 13 and recorded about a 20 minute video in cinematic mode, and i cant even edit it because it cannot and will not load. i cant cut clips to my liking because the second i touch the screen to do so it freezes. very disappointed as i have always loved i movie to edit my videos and i’m kinda upset that i have to download another video editing app a learn how to use it.

Easy to use but glitches my movies for no reason

Title says it all. And if it decides it’s going to case a glitch in your video/movie it’ll do it no matter how many times you try and re download it onto your phone. You’ll have to delete the whole file and start from scratch which is infuriating!

Glitching

Idk if it’s from my end but every time I’m editing my videos it glitches in between and it gets more longer for me to get my videos done. But other than that. This is an amazing app!

A disappointing shell of the original

I got my first taste of iMovie when I bought my smoke gray Apple iMac DV Special Edition 21 years ago. Back then, it was revolutionary – incredibly simple and intuitive, yet an extremely powerful video editing tool. It’s not hyperbole to say that the original iMovie brought video editing – which back then required specialized equipment and software costing tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars – to the masses. Given my history with this app, it’s hard to find the words to express how disappointed I am with this version. It’s no longer simple, no longer intuitive, and worst of all, VERY limiting to creativity. Just two examples: • In the original iMovie, when you separated audio & video, THEY WERE ACTUALLY SEPARATED, and the user could edit them separately, going so far as to lay new video clips over existing sound. You can’t do that in this version. If you delete a video clip, even after detaching the sound, the sound is deleted with it. • In the original iMovie, you could render a frame of video as a still, effectively creating a freeze frame, which could be made any length you want to make it. You can’t do that in this version. Furthermore, if you create a freeze frame in your source video in your photo library by pausing where you want it and doing a screen capture of it, then import it as a still into iMovie, it defaults to the “Ken Burns Effect,” with the photo frame zoomed in on a small portion of the photo. You can disable the Burns Effect, but you can’t then zoom out the photo to its original size and framing to use it as a freeze frame within the video it came from. If there are workarounds to solve these issues, I haven’t been able to find them in Apple’s iMovie Help or in third-party forums. I could go on and on talking about things I could do in the original iMovie 21 years ago (on a computer that had less RAM and less graphics memory than my iPad has now), but I’ll stop here. The bottom line is that Apple, in “streamlining” this app for iOS, took out all the features that made the original iMovie such a powerful tool, and such a joy to use. I only gave it 2 stars because it’s not totally useless. Just mostly useless.

Was good, but the new update ruined it.

iMovie previously was a pretty great video editor, but they released an update and the app is constantly lagging making it horrible to edit videos on.

EQ/Noise Reduction

Great app for quick video editing. I did a voiceover and would like to be able to equalize my volume and reduce the background noise coming from the apple headphone mic

Slow and unresponsive

Mirocal

…with just 9 min of 4K XDR videos on an iPhone 13 pro. Else: very limited app, with two major pain points: - terrible HD quality output, with zero settings to adjust resolution and compression; - in the age of phone videography, iMovie still doesn’t support vertical format, albeit in a contrived way with resolution loss. Lameware.

Still missing something

Awesome movie maker I love all the features! When I got the app I was looking at a video to see how to use it than I went back on iMovie a few days later and tried to find the feature. I couldn’t find it even though it was on the video. I don’t know if there is an upgraded iMovie but didn’t see one on the App Store. After a little of research, I realized that I already had the most upgraded iMovie. This was another problem of mine, after I got the hang of iMovie I tried to go on the app and it said “download again and try again later” which I had know idea what it meant but I thought maybe I was running out of space? So I checked my storage and it totally had enough space. I kept trying over and over again but still nothing. So I don’t know about those two things but I hope you fix it. Again love the features

Extremely dumb

I am a youtuber and I like to talk in my video’s but whenever I use the IPADS INBUILT MICROPHONE TO PICK UP ON MY VOICE, this app just says no AND GETS RID OF THE AUDIO, and it’s not like complete silence, it still has the game audio SO THIS IS STUPID
