Nice and useful, but...

It REALLY needs a desktop version, with sync. This is a really useful app, I've been looking for something like this for a long time (as a grad student in the humanities -- lots of citations, etc.), and this does the job very nicely. The only drawback, which is a huge drawback for me, is that I can only use it on my iPad, although the majority of writing I do still occurs on the computer. Yes, the rtf export works, but it's not extremely useful, as I can't update the database from my desktop. So please, please, do come up with something for the desktop.

This app is a great tool to manage, and categorize my research data. Hope there is one for iPad.

Very Versatile!
Paula.P

I love how versatile this app is! I originally bought it for research projects in my classes and it's been wonderful for that. I've been able to carry around all of my notes and not worry about leaving any of them behind. I think the app has helped me be more efficient academically, especially because of how easy it is to see how my notes relate to each other, but I'm really excited about how I can use it for other things too. I just began to use it for a personal genealogy project to track my family tree/history. The timeline feature has been great for me to see the big points and events in my family line. I think this is a great app. --- The new update lets you organize the cards yourself. The text formatting is nice, but it would be great if we could use color in addition to the bold, italic, and underline options. One of the last updates added category colors to the subject cards. That was a useful addition. The app is pretty good. It is getting better. I am looking forward to future updates!

Could be great but....

Too many bugs. Keyboards don't show up when they should. After typing information into areas often it will just disappear. You have to drill down too far to get to things. So it's difficult to get to things quickly. User guide needs more images to follow what is being explained. Loves to crash. very unintuitive. This could be such an amazing app. But too many problems at the moment.

A good research tool for researchers

I have been using this app for research papers for quite a while. The iOS 7 update is nice (and took a while to get here), but thankfully it had the option to change the appearance, so I was able to get back the wood look I like. The new text search feature is nice, and so is the source lookup. Citation formatting works for basic styles like Chicago, APA, and MLA. It doesn’t include journal specific styles. Using the camera on my iPad to scan barcodes on books is really useful for quickly inserting new sources. I guess I should also say that I use the app for big research projects with hundreds of notes (Graduate school) and this app is the right database for me. If you are only working with a small number of notes, you might not find yourself using the best parts of the app.

Good app!

Interface and improved functionality have made this application a great option for monographic binder. Recommend!!!

Great concept - No sync
ienjoyed

I reviewed this app previously, and favorably. However, I can no longer use this app until sync is solved. When my iPad crashed, fortunately, I had exported my last set of research to evernote, but it is in rtf! Yuck! The extensive research data for a particular set of topics I am researching would have to be built from scratch from a huge set of ‘cards’ or tagged notes. I have moved back to a less brilliant app, but I do miss the unique, filtering/sorting that Ilaro provided. Don’t let it stump you, you have a kernel of greatness here. I’ll revise to 5 stars once iCloud sync (or any sync) is solved.

Genius - waiting for sync capabilities
emsmusicbox

This app will be five star as soon as it can sync. I have too many devices I need to work on in different settings to be limited to only one that isn't always accessible. It's an incredible app, and nearly perfect soon as it can sync. I have kept the app for over a year waiting on syncing. It's so good, truly. Best research organizer I have found.

You can do better...
MacDelta

Let's keep it concise. You probably already have the best app in this category. This could have been a contender, but the last update was over a year ago. By the way Ilaro, not to be confused with the Nigerian city of the same name, means, "tool set," in Esperanto. "Nekompleta," is Esperanto for the English word: incomplete. How hard is it to add a sync feature (in any language)? Did you ever note that the green elephant has his own page on Wikipedia?

Abandonware- Beware
Ansk

There has been no movement in this app for quite some time and the developer has not responded to my numerous requests as to information on further development. So I can only conclude that this is abandonware and Apple should pull it from the store.
