Deceptive Advertising Reflects Poorly on HGTV Reputation
Dognilla

Do YOU (HGTV) know who you are dealing with? I am so disappointed. Check out your advertiser’s reputation. Here’re some tidbits about “mylife.com”: n 2008, classmates.com was involved in a class-action lawsuit for sending spam emails to people claiming there was "someone looking for them" and then charging a fee to view the information, only to discover there was nobody searching for them; a subsequent 2011 lawsuit against MyLife stated that the company was engaging in the same practices and was simply a rebranded classmates.com.[10][11] The suit also accused the company of false solicitation by offering monthly memberships and then charging member's credit cards at the annual rate.[12] The class action also accused MyLife of spamming contacts improperly gathered from the address books of those visiting the site.[10] U.S. District Judge Claudia Wilken ruled to consolidate the 2011 class-action lawsuit with two other fraud class actions against MyLife. The lawsuit was ultimately dismissed when classmates.com agreed to pay a more than $9.5 million settlement.[13] The Washington State Attorney General's Office also began an investigation in 2011 stemming from concerns that the company's TV advertisements may have violated the state's Consumer Protection Act, which prohibits unfair and deceptive practice.[14] According to State officials the company resolved the issue by making an "assurance of discontinuance" and paid $28,000 in attorneys' costs and fees.[15] In 2015, after a joint investigation by the Santa Monica City Attorney's Office and the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, the company was again sued, this time for allegedly violating California Anti-Spam law.[13] Investigators found that MyLife was tricking consumers into giving the company their personal identifying information, and later their money, through false and misleading ads. MyLife agreed to a court judgment under which it would pay $800,000 in penalties, plus $250,000 in refunds to customers, a ruling referred to as "the first major prosecution of an online business for violations of California's automatic renewal law".[16] The company also is subject to a permanent injunction that prohibits false advertising and unauthorized credit card charges.[17] The Better Business Bureau (BBB) rates MyLife as B- with no accreditation.[18] Formerly, the BBB revoked MyLife's accreditation, initially giving MyLife a rating of D,[19] and later an F.[20]

Fixer upper is great.

Love it.

Ridiculous number of ads

Want to minimize them? Mute your device while they’re on. It’s soothing, like a visit to a spa. Then go back to your show.

Can not mirror from my iPhone to my tv
Gcombs

This app does not allow me to mirror from my iPhone to my tv since the latest update. All I get is the sound coming from my tv but the image remains on my phone.

Nothing but Ads
BrianKInAppTown

6 Ads for a “30 minute” episode. Enough is a enough. HGTV used to be my favorite network. I cut the cord a couple years and used to enjoy watching folks buy houses all over the world, now I will just travel there myself. Done with TV and this app. As if overpaying for a streaming service to watch a few hours isn’t enough.

Favorite Channel
Ms Pookie

This is one of the only channels I watch now... The shows are great.. I’ve gotten a lot of ideas from the different shows that I’ve watched. We are going to be purchasing another house in the near future and I’m going to use all the tools I’ve gotten from this channel. I hope the realtor is ready... Keep up the good work...

Easy and entertaining

The app is super easy to navigate and comfortable to go through all the programming. We absolutely love all the shows and incredible family friendly programming.

Too many commercials
608HgTV

I get HGTV through my cable provider. I appreciate the great shows and the ability to watch anytime. However, there are too many commercials. 6 commercials every 3 minutes is too much. I am paying for this service so don’t make me watch all the commercials every 3 minutes. HGTV, you can do better.

Only 1 episode before I have to uninstall and redownload...
Cait_D89

The set up of the app is fantastic and I want to love it. I was so excited to start using it. The problem, however, is that I can watch a single episode without issue. As soon as the episode finishes, the app freezes up and cannot load anything. I have tried closing out the app and restarting it, but it eventually either times out and says that something went wrong or it just stays frozen on the intro/load screen with the HGTV logo. Restarting the device does not work either. The only solution is to uninstall the app and then reinstall and download again from the App Store. Then I get to watch one more episode before repeating the process.

Keeps Blocking Me
Sdk009

I can’t watch anything in the app. It says my Spectrum subscription doesn’t include access even though I’m a subscriber and have confirmed that with Spectrum. All the other Discovery channel apps work except this one. Fix this issue NOW!
