1. The Hermes App enables Groups of Friends, or Families, to create links with other Hermes user Groups - enabling sharing of locations when appropriate. Privacy and safety is our principal concern. Hermes makes it easy to manage which groups, friends and family members you share your location with, and which groups you join and are a part of.

2. Real Time Location – Unlike many apps that offer location sharing, Hermes updates your location to those defined in your groups, in real time – once you have initiated transmitting of your location – it allows an accurate picture of where you, or a friend / family member are at that instant.

3. Privacy – Hermes was built on the premise of a ‘privacy-by-design’ concept. A user’s location is shared only with defined members of your group when the activation button is hit, initiating location sharing. You can turn off background location updates (location updates whilst the app is in the background) in the app’s settings.

4. Stats – Everyone likes stats, it can make things more interesting and as a result when someone is sharing their position, you are able see more information about their location e.g. their coordinates, speed, battery level and signal strength; all of which help to build a more detailed picture of someone’s progress, and their changing location.

5. Quick Action Messages: – Hermes allows communication with your group very easily through your pre-set messages e.g. “I’m running late!” or “On M25 in a long tailback”. Hermes makes it easy for you to tell your group or a defined person the situation with a single button press. Hermes also allows you to request someone in your group to start sharing their location with you, as well as pinning the map’s centre to their position as they move.

6. Emergencies – Hermes contains a feature we call ‘Panic Mode’. This valuable mode - from the press of a button - will alert all defined members of all your groups that you are in a bad situation e.g. ‘involved in an accident’, ‘feeling very unwell’, or “Have or are being assaulted’. it is not a replacement for emergency services and will not contact them but can allow for easy notification and tracking should something bad happen to you.

7. Customisation – Like many social networks Hermes allows you to change your profile picture and display name, you can also easily change a group image and group name as well as members within the group itself.
