I never tried hangout but one day a friend of mine recommended Hangout for me so that I can chat with him there. I downloaded it and to my view hangout is so simple and faster to use I love everything about hangout

I LOVE google hangouts. When I did not have a phone it was an easy way to communicate with my friends and family. And had a lot of ways to do such as... Video calls, Voice calls, texting, and you could even send your Bitmoji.

Sometimes hangouts will just decide that they aren’t going to deliver any of my messages to a particular contact. And I cannot send messages to them on hangouts from my phone unless I delete the app and redownload it. It usually starts when I try to send the message when I don’t have great service. Instead of just holding onto it and sending it when I get in service, or showing “message send fail” it actually just says “sending....” into perpetuity. It never sends it. And it never marks as send fail. This has happened 3-4 times, and don’t understand why. It doesn’t change when I do a full restart of the phone. And yet, when I message the person from my desktop/gmail website, it not only sends, but the sent message appears on my hangouts app in real time. I just can’t respond from the app. Please fix this bug!

I love this Social Medium. It is very easy to use and navigate. I’m a new user, so I still do not know how secure, (read: Privacy), my messages, images and informations are, from hackers and scammers.

Got a Facebook message from a “woman” that was “interested in me. They immediately asked to switch the convo to Hangout. I’ll play along for a while since their FB profile will probably get deleted soon.

doesn't sync, doesn't notify

noticed that even after updating preferences across devices only the badge app icon seems to work consistently. banners and sounds are not always working. there's no function for the Apple Watch Series 2, as far as I could find. doesn't make sense why they don't have that with as long as Hangouts has been available. messages don't sync between devices using the same account on the same iCloud. I mainly use my iPhone to create/receive messages, however when I switch to my iPad Pro, the Hangouts app doesn't "catch up" and show the messages already exchanged. my partner's regular phone service is extremely poor at their new office - even iMessage won't work and they can't use the office WiFi on their iPhone - so using some kind of messaging system that is browser-based on their desk computer was a necessary aspect from their end. too bad I can't fully endorse Hangouts to solve this kind of scenario for others. devices and iOS: iPhone 8 Plus and iPad Pro 9.7, both on most current iOS at time of review.
