"HanDBase for iPhone is a very powerful and customizable database. There's really no competition to HanDBase, and given their long history and track record in the handheld world, HanDBase will be adopted quickly in businesses where custom databases are needed. At [Price], this app is a bargain." TUAW.com review
"If you’re sick of buying [...] iPhone/Touch applications that don’t live up to their hype – then you should look at HanDBase" GearDiary.com review
We are a world leader in the mobile database space and have compatible solutions (sold separately) for desktops, synchronization to programs like Microsoft Access, SQL Server, Filemaker, and most ODBC enabled apps. See our web site for more details and options.
Please Note: The HanDBase database format does not support Unicode, so while English and most European languages are supported, other languages are not.
This is a very nice little app. I have been using HanDbase since my Palm Tungsten. Does everything I need, except for one glaring omission. I can’t sync info between my iPhone and my iPad without using a desktop machine. This is quickly going to become unacceptable, as I have almost completely moved away from desktop machines to mobile platforms. I don’t know how I am going to sync info between the two after the transition. I guess I will have to find a new app. But until then I will use this one. Edited: the non-support of sync between iPhone and iPad is a deal-killer. Bye.
Took a minute to figure out how to use it efficiently but it works great and I love the old school file cabinet look.
I used to love this software and really missed it on iOS. Struggled with a couple of alternatives for the past 3 years and stumbled on it today. Immediately paid for the forms module (which was part of the core software back in the day). Small price if they keep it updated. Looking forward to re learning this gem. - Do not see interaction with Calendar & Contacts like it used to on PalmOS - Limiting of calculations to 5 operations and lack of If Then is very limiting - Dont like that iPad has to be a separate purchase.
i’ve been using this app since the palm pilot times was very good and accurate but since the last couple years when I came over to iPhone in the last year the developers are not updating the app and it’s going to stop working with the iOS updates so don’t bother to buy this app
I have a table that has about 65 recs Trying to add a new record and it doesnt save it. Bad.
I started using this on a Palm Pilot in 2001, and it has been serving me well since. To my mind, its biggest limitation is that it does not understand SQL. I just downloaded the Forms tool, and am still figuring that out.
Really hope they keep up with constant and never ending improvement .... can create just about anything ..... only wish I can make awesome looking FORMS
Easy to build a database but creating a custom form simply doesn’t work. I have 13 fields in my table and when I create a form based on a blank form (custom), when I add a text box and try to link it to a field in my table, it only gives me the last five elements from which to choose. Totally useless unless you settle for auto-generated forms which are not user-friendly. Would like my $15 back.
There is an annoying bug in which field order, filters and field widths are not prereserved for individual views. If you have no need for separate views you’ll find this to be a very useful app.
