Great App

Florida Tracker

Love the convenience and selections for tracking!!

It's ok, but irritating for vintage cars

IanEpp

I had previously used (and paid for) Gas Cubby, which was an awesome tracking app. After being acquired several years ago by Fuelly the old app was retired and replaced -and my history auto-loaded into the updated, inferior app. Time marches on, and I had hoped the new app would eventually surpass the old one, but it has not. It's prettier, and has some nice features, but I most often use the app when I'm filling up the tank and that's when a missing minor UI tweak gets to me - almost every time I use the app. I drive a vintage car without a trip counter and the odometer has rolled. The old app would show the last odometer setting and even had an option to enter the miles by spinning a set of dials that looked like the odometer - literally updating the odometer by spinning reach digit. It was fun to use and was difficult to get wrong. With Fuelly, I type in the number fresh each time - I have to remember to add a 1 (soon it'll be a 2) in front of the number every time. Thankfully, at least I get a warning when I miss type one of the major digits - but a minor UI change to either show the last odometer reading (in fixed width font for easy comparison) and even an auto-calculated field for "miles since last" would make this radically easier for me to use. I suppose I could just pretend that the reading is lower and go from there, but I have 12 years of logs that predate the odometer rolling. It's a petty, stupid, but irritating thing that bugs me almost every time I use the app. Now Fuelly is periodically prompting me to subscribe, so I've started looking for something better, but haven't found it yet. Even though I initially bought Gas Cubby specifically because it didn't require an online service or subscription, If they made this minor change to support vintage car owners like me, I'd happily pay the small annual fee to use their service to keep the app going.

Works but asks inane questions

NurtureWarrior

Just started using this (3rd fill) and it seems to work fine as far as calculating gas mileage. But it insists on answering meaningless questions like locating the specific gas station and separately the brand of gas - all stuff I have no interest in keeping track of.

Privacy Hawks Beware

Fotoclyde

I’ve been using this app for a long time and today learned all my vehicle info including my VIN’s and other data is on the web for all to see. There’s no way to suppress it.

So frustrating

sirhannick72

Can not handle if you enter data in batches. It cannot figure out if you enter fuel ups out of order. There is no “recalculate” button for fuel economy. Really wish I could have the aCad app that I had on my android back.

Unable to restore purchase

mujalifah

I have a subscription through Aug 2021, but can’t restore the purchase through the app. The iTunes password field that appears doesn’t show the keyboard and I can’t paste a password either. I keep getting notified to Upgrade to Premium, but have an active subscription. What to do?

Completely useless

Colddarkwind

Totally a waste of effort. App doesn’t remember my vehicles which pretty much makes it completely useless for vehicle data. I even paid for the subscription but that didn’t help. Save time and frustration and look for something else

Does not save the station info

KCT17

I’ve been using this app for at least 7 or 8 years with several cars. It’s only glaring issue is that it will not save the location details for the station where you’ve gassed up. I like to visit the same stations on my frequent long trips. The app is great at recognizing your location, almost always placing the actual station I’m at at the top of the selection list - but here’s the problem: IT DOES NOT SAVE THE LOCATION DETAIL. Yes, it will save the station name (Circle K, Shell, 7Eleven, etc) but not the street address, city, interstate exit, etc. I use this info to project where I need to fill-up while on long trips. I prefer certain stations (truck stops) so I exported the stored data for my current car. That’s when I discovered the location details are missing from the export and it is not visible in the record in the app either so it’s totally gone. I suspect that the information is kept in some manner though and probably used by the developer to sell to research and marketing low-lifes. So why can’t me, the developers most valuable asset, get this info that I’ve painstakingly provided and(I thought) I saved? Also, my most frequently used station (local Costco) is no longer listed in available locations when I select the location field. I created a “custom” location and do you think it is ANYWHERE near the top the of available locations list? What a crazy idea. Oh, and of course the location only saves the name, not the address SMH. And finally, it’s been a year or more since the app was updated but now the subscription price is increasing by 13%!
