Great app!

p_alex95

I LOVE this app, it’s one of the very few apps I use on a daily basis. However there are some things I’d like for you to add, I wish we could control the horns via the mic, I think that’d be awesome, also when I’m working on the beat sequencer, I’d like to be able to turn of kits so that I can hear what the other kits sound like without the others on. I don’t trust my memory to turn off steps from the kit.

More

ATM Broswphus

It needs more instruments and also like a song frame where it helps you mix the sounds perfectly

Thank you

Thank you for the stability update. This really helps. Update: ok, I take that back. I’m still having the same issue with new loops, and old loops having issues with being placed on the grid. Also i have issues with copying loops from one song to another. Also, the option to upload to YouTube does not exist anymore. Maybe it has to do with you guys, but it’s infuriating

Terrible Interface

Hillary$wank

This new design makes it nearly impossible to sort through old files.

Buggy and unstable, edit

PutridPoltergeist

I’m really annoyed, the app doesn’t load instruments and won’t let me add songs. Please install something else like FL studio mobile, it was a lot more stable when I had it and I didn’t have any issues with it. Please fix this apple.

Love love love

It’s so fun to make music

Great at first, but seems to still have some possible bugs.

When I first started using garage band, it was great, however, after I downloaded the Japanese instruments pack, I wasn’t able to play any other the instruments I downloaded, nor any of the ones that came with the vanilla game. I tried deleting it, the pack and even the game, but to all in vain as I still cannot play any of the instruments in the game. I did some searching to find if anyone else had did problem but even still I’m confused. I think it might be a bug or possibly my iPad, either way I can’t use GarageBand’s instruments and would like the developers to look into it and possibly release an update to try and fix it. Edit: just updated my iPad, everything seems normal now, it’s great again.

Very good, but with major flaws

GarageBand is an approachable, fun way to create sound, solid music without the need of any professional equipment or other hardware. It’s best aspect is it’s versatility, because any genre of music can be created by any creator. There is no serious skill or knowledge required to use the app in it’s most basic form, but there are still many advanced features suited for more experienced music-lovers. I personally am a veteran to GarageBand and in my opinion, it is the best music software for all around song creating, but there have recently been some major issues I have been confronted with. Because of this, I would really like this review noticed so that these problems could be looked into and hopefully fixed. I create heavy electronic tracks on the app and I haven’t seen a problem with the app itself ever until now. Since I try to avoid using loops for originality’s sake, it can become rather complicated to recreate more professional sounds without the help of loops. Naturally, lag comes when I reach 10-12 instruments and my songs become taller, but I’ve recently noticed that the app has had to “optimize performance” after most changes I make, even minor ones. It becomes annoying quickly because it takes 1-2 minutes every time. The second problem, more important than the first is something I’ve seen happen mostly with trans-positioning a block of sound. Once I go into that blocks settings and change its pitch, I will listen to the track and find that nothing has changed in terms of the pitch. Then I will change the pitch again to something deliberately wrong, like 3 octaves higher or lower, and it still will not change anything. It will be stuck on the same pitch despite what I tell it. I’ve tried closing out the app and even turning off my iPhone, but the pitch stays constant, and I can’t change it. The third and final problem, probably the most important, is that sometimes entire instruments with stop making sound, even if they are set to +99 velocity, +12 Gain, maximum volume on the automation setting, etc.. Even if I mute all other instruments and make sure every setting on the instrument, including treble, bass, reverb, etc. are not particularly high or low, all I hear is complete radio silence. In short, the app will show green or blue or pink blocks on the screen, but when the cursor moves over them it is as if they don’t exist. Their sound is completely absent from the song. In sum, I love GarageBand, enough that I would write a novel like this to try and improve it. I haven’t seen any problems with it until recently, and not because of a recent update (yes, my GarageBand IS up to date if that helps), or at least I don’t think. Please look into the problems I’ve described, and see what you can do about these problems. Respectfully, D. Blackston
