FLUX by belew™ is an ever-changing variety of new tracks, sounds, and visual art that comes at you in quick, surprising pieces. You get exposed to a lot of interesting content quickly, and every listen is a new, unique experience that will never happen the same way again for you or anyone else.
The song forms themselves are short and varied, with longer tracks chopped up so you only hear a portion. Songs even appear in multiple versions, with different lyrics and instrumentation. There are hundreds of these songs, pieces of music, and sonic "snippets", along with engaging visuals randomly changing with the music.
These tracks never play in the same order, though it is not entirely random. The artist controls the probability of which tracks are played, so new tracks may appear, others may go away, and rarities may only be heard once and a while. All this can be changed at any time, ensuring that FLUX never plays the same way twice.
Songs do repeat over time, but you also have the option to hear a track whenever you want just by pressing the "favorite" button, and it will added to your own custom playlist. You can also see a history of what you’ve just heard.
FLUX by belew™ also includes pictures, lyrics, studio notes, backstories about the songs, and interactive ways to share your FLUX experience with your friends via social media. It has been cheekily described as "the first SAAS music album", due to its ever-evolving status.

Adrian Belew is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, producer, and guitarist, who has released 20 critically acclaimed solo albums, while working alongside some of the most innovative artists of the past 30 years, including Paul Simon, David Bowie, Talking Heads, Frank Zappa, and Nine Inch Nails, among others. For 33 years he was the frontman, singer, and guitarist in art-rock giant King Crimson. Known as a highly inventive guitarist, much of Belew's music mixes pop songwriting with complex time signatures, witty lyrics, wild sounds, and a technical mastery of his instrument.

This crashes every time I hit play on iOS 13.1.3 on an iPhone X. See other review. Needs to be fixed. At this point, a complete waste of money.

Outdated, abandoned app that does nothing but try to upsell you, then crash. It’s a battle to get a refund. Interesting idea. Completely broken. Garbage. Literally broken crap. Love Belew but broken apps shouldn’t be on the App Store for $10 if they do NOTHING. but CRASH. tl;dr: DO NOT BUY. HAVE FUN TRACKING MR. BELEW DOWN FOR YOUR $10.
Crashes on iOS 13

A warning to potential purchasers: this app crashes every time I press Play. Happens on both an iPhone 8 and an iPhone 11 Pro. Used to work fine so I suspect it needs to be updated to be compatible with iOS 13. The developers seem to be AWOL - tried to submit a report through the form on their support website (error msg) and via email (bounced). Anyone else having this issue? Or does it work for you on iOS 13? Update 11/23/19: I received a response to this review from the developer, who confirmed it’s a new issue since iOS 13, and they are working on it. Still, I wouldn’t recommend paying for the app until it’s fixed.
Bunch of snippets?

Maybe I have not learned to navigate this app but it seems to be nothing more than a collection of random snippets of music often only seconds long. I paid for the the app, then the $4.99 add-on, not sure what that was supposed to do, I can’t tell it did anything. Gotta say, I love Adrian Belew’s music, have since seeing him performing with King Crimson in Dallas in the mid 80s. But unless I discover something I haven’t yet I will wind up deleting this app. Disappointing...

Flux is unique and quirky, just like Adrian Belew. And I mean that with the utmost respect and admiration because that’s what I love about his music and guitar style. I have a decent home theater setup with a lot of power, subwoofer, and a 60” television. I use screen mirroring into my Apple TV and let it run. That might not be how it was intended to be used, but it works great.
Great app, but a couple of things...

1. Can you auto-pause playback when another iOS app takes control of audio? 2. Can you enable iCloud integration so things like Favorites are synced across devices? Keep up the great work!
