Great app!!

Flat is an amazing app for composers seeking to make a great score! You can also look up scores by other people and listen to their songs. The variety of instruments and voices are also fantastic. A little confusing at first, but after a while you will get the hang of it.

Love this app but hard to distinguish L and R hits

I absolutely adore this app. It’s nice to put my thoughts and ideas for drumline warmups on my phone (that’s practically always on hand). However, the only thing that really irks me about this app is it’s representation of L hits and R hits. As a high school percussionist, I do not see a lot of variation of music. (I do go out and seek music myself but still that does not cover all varieties of music) Never in my wildest dreams have I seen music that denotes a L and R hit by spacing? In all of the music I’ve seen, it’s almost always shown as little L’s or R’s under the notes. I personally feel that this is a lot clearer to understand especially when sight reading. Other than that though it is a great app all around!

Amazing (Especially Compared to Noteflight)

Flat has been a lifesaver! I was tired of the simple limitations of Noteflight. And when I downloaded this app for free, and realized it holds up to 15 scores and allows quarter note triplets (both are limitations of Noteflight), I was already extremely happy. This app is able to keep up with my fast-pace 3 a.m. composing. Super easy to use and has an optional small piano at the bottom of the screen to compose with. The only complaint I’ve ever had about this app would be after composing four or five pages, the app sometimes glitches on that score, and it won’t allow you to click and resume composing unless, in advance, you have added about a page of empty measures. An easy fix, but sometimes annoying. Overall, this app is really good. It has very few downfalls, and most are completely fixable. 10/10

have had this app for about five months. not once have I ever been able to write a single note of music. I open the app and try to create a piece, I can name it and choose all the parts, but when I get to the actual score it just loads indefinitely. tried pressing every button, inspected every inch of the interface in case I was missing something. no such luck. hate to give one star but am forced to, considering the app is literally unusable in its current state.

Great writing app

I use this app every day to work on my music and I love that I can plug in my own piano to play and its writes my notes down. You have to play a little slow but it is still a time saver. It does however bother me that the setting won’t stay on page view and sometimes notes won’t play or I can’t click on a certain note or staff at times, causing me to close the app over and over until it starts working again. But overall I love the app and will continue to use it and hope that one day the bugs get fixed.

I have been a fan of transcribing music for a while now and having this program to allow me to do this hobby on the go is very helpful. It contains all the equipment I would need to do this. Despite minor bugs and errors between playback, this app functions well and I hope to see more features from it in the future!

Difficult to use

The app is difficult when writing sheet music. It’s impossible to insert notes and make edits on an already written sheet as it throws everything off and the app is unable the shift notes down when increasing an eight note to a half etc.

Amazing But There’s Just One Problem...

This app is amazing for music notation! I loved using it and I’ll stick with it since it’s better than a lot of the competing apps. The only problem is it’s very glitchy. It sometimes takes 7 tries or more to click on a specific note. I sometimes have to exit the score and come back into it to get it to work again. This is very annoying, but the variety of great sounding instruments, and unlimited use makes up for it. It would be great if you can fix it. One feature I think you should add is the option to be able to type multiple notes on one beat of a measure instead of the app immediately going to the next beat. It would be cool to have that as a setting. Thanks for the amazing app!
