FINAL FANTASY III -- now on iPad!

First released in 1990, FINAL FANTASY III was the first title in the FINAL FANTASY series to become a million-seller, establishing once and for all that Square Enix's classic RPG saga was here to stay.
The full 3D remake released in 2006 duplicated the original's success, selling over a million copies worldwide.

FINAL FANTASY III was a hallmark of innovation for the entire series, from the job system that lets characters change classes at any time to the ability to summon powerful creatures such as Shiva and Bahamut.

When darkness falls and the land is robbed of light, four youths are chosen by the crystals to set forth on a journey to save the world.

Reviews

Instructions on saving are misleading
FoxShepard

The notes on Saving in the Control Hints specifically say “Auto quicksave automatically saves your progress as you play the game.” So I naturally assumed that there was some kind of autosaving happening as I was playing the game. So I was shocked to discover after dying at the very beginning of the cave in Kazus that there was no autosave data I could resume from and I had to start playing the game over from the very beginning. These instructions about saving are extremely misleading. What if I had been playing the game for a lot longer before dying for the first time and then discovered I had to restart the game from the beginning?

Controler

Is this version of the game going to be able to use controller. The Iphone version can but the iPad version should also need controller access.

Mediocre

The story is good, it’s nice you thought of this for iPad, now people like me can enjoy this. It would be nice if you could remove the credits during cutscenes, they kinda mess up the feel. I have one question— how do you turn your guys into Toads so I can do the tower. Overall, great game, and it’s FREE so AMAZING job

Controller support?
AstralDarkstar

So you’ll give the phone version of FF3 controller support but not the ipad version? I’m just going to stop buying apps from SE because obviously you do not care for your supporters. Why is it SE keeps getting worse and worse with app updates? But they’ll definitely keep their prices up and keep taking eveyone’s money.

No sound
Hiphopbrooks

there's no sound coming out of the game at all

No controller support

Seems like a fundamental oversight. Disappointing.

Definitely worth your money.

This is a great remake and its now available on my iPad, sweet. Game deserves a 5. Complaint: This is a direct port from the nintendo DS remake, which makes some features feel forced. For this reason i rate this game a 4 because of Square Enix's decision to be lazy. Other things you may need to note. *Buying the iPad version does not mean you can play it on iPhone, nor does the iPhone version play on iPad, the purchases are separate. **********Apparently People can't figure out the quick save feature.************* People need to read, plain an simple. When you quick save you do not save to a file but a temporary file which has only one function and that is to keep your current State. This means when you start the application again you must choose continue. if you choose any other file the state is lost. If you load the State then the State is Erased. Means you can't Die and load the state again. * FF3 was one of the toughest games in my memory and the quick save feature was not available in the original. It's not meant to be used as a restart point incase you enter a dungeon under leveled or as a save point before a boss. In other news "Life isn't fair" :'(

Quick save.

Those of you using this need to realize it is only meant for when you have to leave and come back.... As soon as you continue from a quicksave it is wiped away, so only true saves will save your progress if you should die.
