Be careful!!!

Vandr1x

This game is about gambling. Be careful to spend your money on this game if you’re a muslim. I have played it from day one and the game mechanics getting old now. The only thing they do is adding new character every week, and that’s it.

I love this game and Final Fantasy but ...

I love this game and Final Fantasy, but it is increasingly failing to meet even basic expectations of server stability and well translated content that is enjoyable. I have played this game since it first released and have paid more for it than an entire years worth of triple A console titles, and the quality of the game has slipped so far I am just going to walk away at this point. TL:DR Don’t waste your time and money in this endless sink hole if you want a quality product.

Issues with Gumi, not the game

FlamingoRon

Believe me when I say this is the best Final Fantasy game available on mobile that is free to play, bar none. It hits all the right marks when it comes to both story and gameplay. It has a great nostalgia factor, as well. Normally, I would give this game a 4 or 5 star rating. But the developer, Gumi, is treating both this game and its players horribly. First and foremost, if you’ve ever played a Gumi game before, you know that they are incredibly incompetent when it comes to programming and maintenance. You can expect the game to be shut down AT LEAST once a week for 6+ hours. Often times this maintenance will create further problems for the player and require emergency maintenance. Then they give the players the bare minimum in terms of compensation to make up for the emergency maintenance, sometimes lasting an additional 4-5 hours. Even after this, the servers are frequently unstable and the game has several bugs that are still present. Mind you, many people (including myself) frequently purchase the premium currency in this game and give Gumi money. Wouldn’t you think they would use that money to hire or train programmers who know what they’re doing? Wouldn’t you think they would also buy better servers so that the players don’t receive connection errors? One thing that has definitely become worse over time are global events. Most notably, the Christmas event. In this event, you would grind out the same 2 waves of enemies over and over and receive event currency to exchange for rewards. In addition there was a separate story event that was only unlocked via the community’s total candy canes. However, most players were not participating due to most of the event rewards being atrocious and horribly overpriced (with candy cane drops being relatively low) in comparison with other events. After a week of the event, Gumi gave the players 50% bonus to candy canes, which didn’t really improve the event at all. Overall, this is honestly still a fantastic game that I enjoy playing. Unfortunately, Gumi has not improved the quality of the game over time despite bringing in thousands (if not millions) in revenue. The quality degradation has really soured my experience with this game.

Some stuff to the people that hate...

This game overall is amazing... I know that the odds are always against you... But through time and progression you will be able to get good, you can pay to win but it's kinda the luck. Just saying that not getting good summons doesn't mean it's a rigged and a bad game.

Worsening experience...

This game used to be something I was happy to spend my time playing. Now it feels like a chore. It's been months since our last interesting event, and the rewards offered for the investment of time have certainly dwindled in quality. The weekly maintenance almost always breaks something that requires emergency maintenance to fix, with a lot of server down time. The worst part is their horrendous gacha system. No guarantee of ever getting what you want or being able to ever use your favorite Final Fantasy characters. Tidus is my favorite character and he's been out for months and even with constant pulls in their character lottery, I have yet to get one. Players beware... The only way you'll ever be able to use your favorite characters is to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on the CHANCE that you might pull them. Nothing is guaranteed. There are first hand accounts of players spending over $1000 and not pulling the unit they were going for. Other games, like Final Fantasy Record Keeper guarantee that every large pull you do guarantees you at least one 5 star piece of gear. In this game, your large pulls are only guaranteed to have at least one 4 star unit. I regret ever having spent money on this game because none of it resulted in acquiring a single unit that I actually wanted. I won't be spending anymore until things get different. I will update this review as the experience improves or worsens.

Bugs

Chez-Itz

This game is great but there are many bugs that affect the gameplay while you are playing such as when you click the “Give Up” button it does not work also I can’t proceed the story mode that the game has because I can’t go in little dungeons that has “New” on it and I think this is the reason I can’t proceed the story or “Give Up” because it may thinks that I’m in the tutorial.

Great game but....

DockFlash

I love playing this game when it wants to work so far every time I log on it goes straight to the map and won’t let me access the back button or previous locations. It will not also let me access and of the main menu or summons. I email customer support a few days ago with a screen shot and still no response maybe I’ll try again in a couple more days.

iPhone X optimization

This game looks tiny, and honestly, awful on iPhone X. A full screen update would be appreciated, even if it is an in-app purchase.
