Crashes All Day Err Day

PlayingWithFire

Good aggregator for news sources that I would happily pay for if not for constant crashing. The problem is when I open articles to view them fully, instead of just the preview. The built in browser can’t cope with pages that have a bunch of ad content, images and videos. I can’t read a single article without it crashing multiple times. I will often opt to read the article in Safari but I also dislike that the button to open in the article in a browser always opens in Safari which isn’t my preferred browser.

Awesome Reader

DelawareD

Awesome reader, smooth, fast and solid. Can't think of any features needed. Would be great to have off line applicability, but no big deal.

Best app to stay up to date without clutter

yr2112

I am not aware of any news app that consolidates everything I read regularly (newspapers, obscure blogs, small online magazines etc). There are apps out there (e.g. Flipboard) that consolidate content from different sources but these sources are limited to major publications and it is always full of clutter. I want to read high quality stuff no matter its reach and I want to know when a new article is published on some obscure blog I read. Feedly does that in the simplest way possible. It also has great organization/archiving functionality. Just download it.

Add a Swipe Feature!

Itsmemo28

Take a page out of Google Chrome and Apple’s playbook and allow us to swipe right or left on a story to get rid of it and move on to the next one. Or a delete button on the story. It’s great for reading. Not productivity.

Great and simple to use app

Woober

Feedly just plain works as a blog aggregator and help you find related information from other sources.

Scrolling bothers me

Theulysses

I really dislike the scrolling options, so I don’t use it. I would like to see a continued smooth scroll like a web site.

No landscape mode

BonoBob

Update: the developer claims that landscape mode is available in the in-app browser. This appears to only be true for feeds that are not set to default to the in app browser. If the feed is set to default to the in app browser, it is stuck in portrait mode. The same is true of videos. Sorry, still one star. Original: Ever since this app was “optimized” for the iPhone X it has not been able to do landscape mode. This makes the app far less useful, to the point that I no longer use it. This is the only app that I have encountered that has dropped landscape mode because it was “too difficult” to do on the iPhone X. Maybe you need to get some new, more competent programmers to fix it for you.

Flips

Koogan123

Screen flips sideways when I open a story, then won't flip back. Deleting app and using website. Too much time spent dealing with the app. Update: happens on iPad, and is still happening as of 5/13. App is basically worthless.

Awesome!

HillbillySid

This app is the best there is and has been for a very long time!
