Description

Extreme Bricks Infrastructure Traffic Simulator (eBits) iPhone application allows users to perform a quick validation of wireless network connectivity. By utilizing two devices running the eBits iPhone application, users can configure the Transmit / Receive node parameters along with defining the TCP settings on the transmitter in order to establish successful bi-directional communication validation between the two nodes.

How to use:

-Once the application has been successfully installed on two mobile devices, configure both devices to connect to the same Wireless SSID and validate successful IP Address assignment.
-On the node designated as the Transmitter, configure the setup parameters for the Receiver station by entering in the second node’s IP Address.
-On the node designated as the Receiver, configure the Transmitter option to OFF.
-Once the communication parameters have been set, press the START button on both devices. Traffic should be sent from the Transmitter node and received on the Receiver.

This is a great tool!
WLAN Guru

Have you ever wondered what your true WiFi bandwidth is over the wireless LAN between two iOS devices? This tool gives you the answer! I've run this tool on the iPhone 3GS, iPhone4, iTouch, iPad, and iPad2 as I'm roaming the wireless LAN and can view signal strength impact on data throughput in real-time. I've used it to troubleshoot WLAN performance issues and discovered that not all wireless access points are createded equal. Great job Enterasys; I look forward to future updates and more features!

Fantastic app, perfect for simple wireless tests, nice innovation and perfect timing with this market segment currently exploding. Just tested it on my home wireless network between my iPad and iPhone and learnt something about my coverage in seconds! Make sure one device has transmitter turned off and the other has transmitter turned on. The unit with transmitter " on " has to have the ip address of the " off " unit loaded in the provided window. This ip address is displayed on the " off " device. Also you have to press start on both devices otherwise you get a " no connection notice. Be nice to see reporting added at some stage maybe with time, location, signal strength and speed.

I really *want* to love this. The concept is great. Sadly, I couldn't get this to run at all- tried iPhone 4S->3GS as well as 4S->4S but couldn't get the 2 endpoints to communicate at all.

A great tool
